Kindergarten & Preschool

A couple weeks ago the boys began school. Aaron has been begging to go to preschool since we moved here. You can imagine (and see below) his excitement that the time had finally come for him to attend preschool! We happened to pass an ice cream truck on the way there and Aaron turned down the opportunity to follow it. The school has a drop-off/pick-up service and Aaron was trying to jump out of the car to run inside before we had even come to a stop. That afternoon I received a call from the school. I was thinking oh know he has decided he misses mommy since he has been quite attached to me lately. Nope, he was doing great! The director of the school just called to say how sweet he is and that they would like to move him up a level and into the older class 3/4 year olds. He seemed to connect better with them and his speech and skills are beyond those his same age. Smart little boy :) He is doing great in the older class and asks to go to school everyday.

Ian also started Kindergarten. I can't believe I have a child that is old enough to be in kindergarten?! He was beyond excited for his first day. We could not make it to the bus stop fast enough. He came home and said how much fun he had. His favorite part about Kindergarten was riding the bus to school because they go over this big bump and you hit your head on the ceiling of the bus. He also enjoyed recess and said that eight of them play football and transformers the whole time.  As for the academics...in his words "it is so boring and easy. I write my whole name on my paper and my teacher says I just have to write my first name. That's too easy." Which is true he learned leaps and bounds in pre-school that this is kind of a step backwards. So we are supplementing at home and having a wonderful time.

These kids are growing up too fast. Everytime I blink it seems that have gone up another shoe size, and need new clothes. Literally Ian is now in size 1 youth shoes. Aaron is not far behind him in size 9.5 toddler. They have been rocking their new converse superhero shoes!

I was very nervous for Ian to go to Kindergarten and I still am. I know he is ready and it is a step that I have to let him take. Thankfully he has made some really good friends and I just hope and pray that he can remember the things we have taught him! And maybe not so much the things that others have taught him:) We have been hearing a lot of snapping in our house lately.

Ava 3 months

This little princess is now three months old! Her reflux is starting to get under control and she loves to smile which makes everything worth it. Ian is a great babysitter and absolutely adores Ava. I was doing dishes and asked Ian to sit by Ava and sing to her. The next thing I know Ian has more phone and is taking pictures of him and Ava. Yes, Ian took the four pictures you see below and did a great job!
We were lucky enough to have McKenna come and stay with us one evening. We sure miss having them just down the street. Ava smiled more than I have ever seen with Kenna.

I can't seem to get enough pictures of her sleeping. She just looks so cutie!

Aaron was asleep at the time but we were trying to get pictures of us all smiling. As you can see it was not working out very well. So we gave in and pulled sad faces instead. Well...we tried to pull sad faces. Ava's was pretty good ;)

Ian has always had quite the imagination. The other night he wanted to create his own comic book. He drew the pictures and labeled the pages then told me what to write. Page one is definitely my favorite. "Hey! That's a rude word. My punching cupcakes will hit you in the face." I don't know where he comes up with things. But the two boys keep us on our toes and make us laugh everyday.

More of sweet sleeping Ava. She loves to cuddle with super soft blankets.
Don't worry she is awake quite often as well. This is the usual look we get with a big smile tossed in here and there.

Usually it goes right back to this...the look of wonder. Especially when she can see my phone.
