First Haircut!

This weekend I finally cut Ian's hair. I know what you are thinking...really he hardly has any hair! I would have to somewhat agree -but it is just super fine hair like mine. Occasionally it looks like he has a mullet -and that is unacceptable but I still didn't want to cut it. One: Ian doesn't hold still. Two: I am not a hairdresser. Three: Once you cut it that means you have to keep cutting it.

I pulled out an old table cloth, travel chair, snacks, drink, baby einstein: baby mcdonald, and haircut supplies. He was excited to sit in his chair and watch his show (which was amazing) once I pulled out the squirt bottle he of course wanted to squirt himself. Which normally I am all game, but not when I am the one in the line of fire. Needless to say we both got a little wet.

I just trimmed the back and around his ears a little. Yes I know it is a little uneven but like I said my child does not hold. He is the happy baby ever but he likes to move. Plus he has super sensitive skin -the red spots are from my fingers and the comb. There was no cuts, no blood, no tears, and I even got pictures.
All and all I would say it was a success!

Hogle Zoo!

Tim finally had a the weekend off work and we made sure to take advantage of it. While they did call him everyday to come in and pick up a shift (literally Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). He has worked every weekend for the last 4 weeks and Ian and I deserved some time too! So on Saturday we headed down to Hogle Zoo in SLC.

Ian absolutely loved the zoo! We probably could have just gone to a pet store and he would of loved it to because his absolute favorite was all the reptiles (snakes, spiders, lizards, frogs, and anything creep, crawly, and disgusting). As far as the big animals he seemed to think they were ok but he would get really excited (clapping and giggling) when he saw the reptiles. He did love the porcupines and the meerkat that would follow him as he ran from one side of their cage to the other.
We were able to see baby Zuri (picture taken from Hogle Zoo website) and she was super cute!
We also went to the bird show. I was a little worried at first because Ian did not wanting to hold still and sit down and behave before the show -it didn't help that the worker were rude and clearly did not have children. Once the show began and the birds flew just inches above your head he was loving it. By the time we made it through most of the zoo Ian was really tired and enjoyed lounging in his stroller munching on fresh kettle corn.

We headed to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Ian threw a wonderful tantrum in the parking lot and then was happy as could be once we were inside with food. Before leaving we headed back to Jimmer & Amy's house to visit and Ian discovered Jimmer's boots.
He was way to good at walking in them as well.

-good thing his Aunt and Uncle love him :)

Dancing Machine!

I love Sundays! This morning started out hilarious. Ian woke up around 8:30 am and I could hear him giggling in his crib. So we said our morning hello's to Sal (the Salamander) then went off to find dad. Tim was already awake and going over his lesson for priesthood in the office. When going to say Hi to him Ian notice that he was eating a spinach bagel -which he loves and scurried around on the side of him and took it unnoticed. By the time Tim had turned around to say good morning to Ian he had already started chowing down on the bagel and was pretty proud of himself as you can see.

We got Ian ready to go to church and he usually plays in the bathroom while I get ready. Today he saw me using the squirt bottle and took it off the counter. It did not take him long to figure out what you use it for. He thought it was hilarious to squirt himself with water...don't worry we did take off his shirt eventually. Then he thought it was even more fun! Ian and I headed home from church a little early today because he was super tired. We got home and he only took a 35 minute nap. With only one nap a day I figure the rest of the day was going to be pretty bad. When Ian gets really tired he tend to get a little -well quite hyper. Sometimes it can be very entertaining but it can also be a bad thing. Like his cut lip today (just small but it did bleed quite a bit). But on the plus side he had a blast dancing.

But you can also see that he gets a little dizzy in the end too!

One: don't get in the way of his break dancing.
Two: He just might be the next Kiss with the way he hangs out his tongue.
Three: He even threw in a little beyonce bootie shake.

I absolutely love this kid!

No Clothes!

Ian loves not wearing clothes he thinks it is hilarious. Why -I don't know?? If he can get away from me without an article of clothing on it will provided minutes of laughter. Then if he can get even more of in the process of running away it will provided hours of laughter. Thus this smirk on his face. Here he is running away from me trying to put on his shirt.

When he is sneaking or doing something he is not supposed to be doing like climbing on the kitchen table (yes the bistro kitchen table -that is another story) he tends to cover his mouth and giggle.

-which yes he is very very capable of doing that on his own.
And laughing while hiding his hands because he decided not to give dad a high five.He just makes me laugh everyday! At least he hasn't had an accident with all the diaper-less runs he has made around the house.

River Rafting!

So it has been a while since my last post -we have been super busy. School started (I don't feel I need to say anymore about that I think you can figure it out on your own). We see Tim usually on Friday's and occasionally we get to see him every other weekend not his month though :( Other than that he is in school, working, and doing clinical's at the hospital. While I am working all day and chasing Ian all night. However last weekend we were able to finally get away for a day. My parents took Ian (thanks!) and Tim and I headed with our friends up to Jackson to go rafting.

I have never been white water rafting and I'll admit I was a little nervous. Now I think it is funny that I was nervous at all. It was a blast! We left at 5:30 in the morning and drove to Jackson (about 3 hours away) We headed down the river early in the morning and it was pretty cold. Luckily Erin that was super prepared and had warm clothes for us to use. Thanks!

The first ride down was quite entertaining. Let just say Tim & Ann got wet -very very wet!!!

Don't worry -it looks like we lost Ann in Big Kahuna but she made back into the boat safe and sound.

We ate lunch in the parking lot and enjoyed the sun for a moment.

On our second trip down the Snake River we saw a bald eagle.

Hit every rapid if I must say perfectly!Tim even went down in the ducky and never fell out -even on Big Kahuna.
We jumped off some cliffs (by "we" I mean Tim, Nick, and Jeff) it was a little too cold.

We had such a great time with everyone and loved rafting. Thanks to my family for watching Ian. And thanks to the Thompson's and their family for inviting us to come along and getting all the gear. We had so much fun and can't wait to go again!
