Summer Fun!

Just wanted to put up some cute summer pictures. Don't worry the sword is fake toy and not sharp at all.

Ian loves going to Mack park and playing in the river -and yes he gets very messy. He was clapping at the kids splashing in the far right picture.

Tim's cousin Grant came to visit us for a week from New York.

Tim and Grant were able to get in some hiking, shooting, and who knows what other guy stuff.

Tim and Grant had alot of fun hiking off of the beaten path and found some unique and interesting places to climb/ hike to. Even an ominous trail back that just seem to keep ending in cliffs.

We saw Harry Potter in the theater, and tons of other movies at home.

We went to the park and had a picnic Ian loves playing in the water -although this water was super cold. We even managed to fit in some frisbee golf!

On Thursday we headed down to Salt Lake picked up Amy and all of us were able to walk through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple (Jimmer was unfortunately stuck at work). With Ian it was a little bit of a challenge he does not want to be held, does not want to hold still, and does not want to hold your hand. But he loves to play chase! The temple was beautiful -of course which one isn't. It was so nice to be there as a family and take Ian through the temple if only the little wiggle worm would hold still for a few minutes.
If we look warm in this picture it is because we are! It was 108 that day!

In the evenings we sat around and played the guitar -Ian loved it!
Ian especially loved his Uncle Jimmer and of course dancing while he played. He even let Ian play all the guitars. He loved the electric guitar because he could play it with his toothbrush.

The last day we went shopping. Ian always loves watching the carousel and is glued to it
-So we decided to take him on a ride.
He was extremely curious once Tim put him on the horse. Then just after it started moving he want to get off the horse. So Tim held him as it went around in circles and I don't believe his expression ever changed from this.

We ended our week of adventures eating at the spaghetti factory.
Yes I know Ian is messy -what child isn't when eating spaghetti.
Overall we had a pretty crazy and wild week!

Boating!

We have not been boating in forever the last time we went was when Ian was just 6 weeks old -click here to see. Yes it has been a long time since then and Ian has grown a lot.

He had a blast and of course loved the water!

He loved to sit on the back of the boat and splash. He kept trying to get all the way in the water. He loved it and was very very mad when it came time to get out.

Girls Camp -Cinnamon Creek!

Really do I need to say more -duh we had a blast!

A couple weeks ago I was able to go and spend time at girls camp with the young women in our ward. I even stayed overnight the first night and wished I could have stayed the whole time but with Ian and Tim working it was hard to plan our schedules accordingly. Ian on the other hand did pretty well -which is great I guess I should leave more often!

Time outs!

When Ian was about 11 months old we started doing time outs. He was hitting kids when they took his toys (even though he would happily give them back) and throwing temper tantrums. We always put him in a corner because where could you possibly go that you can't find a corner. The first time it was horrible and he did not want to stay and once he did it took me about 20 minutes to calm him down. The second time was great and from then on it has been a piece of cake. Recently he has discovered he can put things down the vents (we believe this is possibly were my drivers license has gone -it is missing but we know Ian had it somewhere in the house) We haven't done a time out in forever -months I would say until this week we have had a few things happen such as picture A....

Yes -usually this door is always closed but if it is open he will run!
I may want to start putting the cereal higher.

Picture B -Ian walked over to the vent to dump down his cereal puffs. When he was about to dump them I said. "Ian if you dump your cereal in the vent you will go to time out." Ian dumped his cereal in the vent and then ran to his time out spot with his cereal of course.
Little Stinker!

Other then this things have been great! We were at the Fackrell's pool yesterday and had a blast. Ian of course loves the water -he didn't really care to stay in his floaty unless we put it under the little waterfall. Thanks for letting us come and play!

Fireworks and a whole lot more!

This weekend was an extremely busy weekend but we had a blast! It started out on Thursday afternoon we headed to the pool with our friends and Ian had a blast. He finally figured out how to blow bubbles in the water and enjoyed doing that for a good portion of the time. Most of the other children his age sat in the shallow end content as could be Ian however...running around splashing, playing with Ellie's diving princesses, and going down the water slide.

After the pool we dropped Ian off with my parents and went and saw Transformers II (it was good but the first one was better). Then that evening we took Ian to the Hyrum City fireworks with our friends to see how he liked it...
need I say more he was glued! He would point and clap when they were finished.

So on Friday we decided to head to the Logan Fireworks -a much bigger production -with the family. Ian had a blast playing before the fireworks began. He loves to throw anything and everything and has a pretty good arm.
The fireworks were great I never knew "I like to move it move it" could be considered a patriotic song!?! Ian was glued again but after about 20 minutes he just laid with me watching them but looked like he was about it fall asleep.

Saturday we all woke up and headed to Bear Lake with our neighbors. It was definately busy on the beach but we still had a blast. Ian loved playing in the sand and water and was happy to be there the whole time. Well almost the whole time he was really mad when we left and super tired.
Kaylie and Anthony had built this before we got there and Ian pretty much took it over.
After the beach we headed back to Logan for the cruise in parade... Ian could have cared less but had a blast playing with the neighbors.
We then headed to my parents house for a delicious bar-b-que and fireworks with the family. It was an extremely eventful weekend that we are all still recovering from...most of us feel and look like this
In other news Ian has been down to just one nap for a couple weeks now...he takes one 3 hour nap during in the afternoon. He has also discovered how to climb onto the couches and pull out the drawers and climb them as if they were stairs! I don't even know where he learns these things?

Family Proclamation

In Sunday School a couple weeks ago we were talking about the Family Proclamation and how you should have a copy of it in your home. So this last weekend on Saturday I got online and sent in a bunch of black and white pictures to Sam's Club and had them printed wallet sized 20 pictures -$2.60. Then I went and got a frame at Walmart for $10 (when you get a frame it must have the mating with it however try to not get one with beveled edges it makes it a little harder) then I picked up my pictures. After Ian went down for the night about 20 minutes later.....
