Aaron's Blessing

On Sunday December, 12th we blessed Aaron in our ward. Everything went great and it was a super relaxing day. I know go figure! Tim did a wonderful job with the blessing then afterward we headed to my parents house for a big lunch/dinner. We decided there were just enough of us that we would have more room to move around at my parents home. Best idea ever! My mom and dad cooked the ham we bought, and did all the prep work of setting everything up! Which meant I did not much of anything but enjoy all of the food and wonderful company. Ian picked out the cake he wanted to have a snowman.

The last picture -can you tell why? He was hungry!Every week his cheeks get a little chubbier.

Aaron loved all of the attention and cuddling with everyone. He was a little fussier than usual because he had just got a couple shots a few days prior, and his reflux medication was doing nothing.
Apparently a few of us missed the matching memo. The whole day was great! Ian loved playing with his cousins and friends and Aaron loved cuddling with everyone.

2 months old

I am not sure where the time has gone but it has gone too fast! I knew this little guy was getting chubby fast but I did not realize how fast. Yes he has nearly doubled his birth weight which was pretty impressive and crazy. Lately people have been saying his is bigger than Ian was, etc. So I checked (got to love blogs just took two clicks). Aaron is just one pound and one inch shy of where Ian was at two months. Considering Ian had nearly 2 pounds on him and a whole inch and a half at birth I would say he is well on his way of being able to wrestle with his brother.

The best part is Aaron is really starting to smile. Although trying to capture it at the right time is a little bit harder, but it is one of the cutest smiles. He is also just barely starting to "coo" and find his voice (especially when crying).

Christmas Tree

Well this year for Christmas I set up my "pretty tree" in the living room. I love it -I walk down the stairs and it makes me smile :) Tim's family always has real trees so we thought it would be nice to also have a real tree since his family is coming out to Utah for Christmas. The Saturday after thanksgiving we headed up to Idaho with our neighbors (and what seems to be the rest of Utah) and cut down a Christmas tree.

Having never been before I really was not sure what to expect when cutting down a tree. I packed a few snacks for Ian and we were all bundled up then we headed out the door. Lets just say I really don't care to ever go again but who knows maybe one day. Ian and Aaron thankfully slept most of the time.


Since the mountains have about 4 feet of snow Tim and our neighbor decided they would hike around to find a good tree. While we stayed and played in the snow off the side of the parking lot -easier than hiking with all of the kids. Ian loved playing in the snow but after 3 hours we were all growing very tired and hungry.

Ian so grateful that our neighbors brought hot chocolate and were willing to share.Thankfully we all stopped at Big J's on the way home and loaded up with food. Then came home and set up our charlie brown Christmas tree.

Thanksgiving 2010

This year for thanksgiving we headed out to the Foster's house for a wonderful meal. It was great getting to see the family since it has been quite a while. Unfortunately I did not take many pictures because we were to busy chatting and having fun.

Ian was as always a ball of energy and had a blast running around with the other boys. As for Aaron he mostly slept the entire time -but notice his cute little smirk in the bottom right!
Aaron and grandpaThanks for having us all over -we know it was a lot of work but we had a blast. When we were heading home in the car out of know Ian said "That was fun mom!" It was priceless.

Let it snow!

The weather outside has definitely been crazy. The last couple of weeks we have had snow storm after snow storm. I think we got just around 2 feet of snow before thanksgiving and it did not seem like it was ever going to stop. We had a lot of warning for the first storm -they canceled school and told everyone to stay home because it was supposed to be a white out and quite nasty.

Ian watching the white out start to get thicker and thicker. By the time we were in the thick of the storm you could no longer see the other town homes or pavilion.

Ian was so excited. Because we had been telling him it was going to snow tomorrow. Now the first thing he says every morning, "Go play in snow." The best part is Ian's snow clothes from last year still fit -although last winter they were big and many would call his pants "floods." The dog on the other hand has apparently put on a little weight.

Surprising Ian was not a big fan of sledding. He did go down the hill a couple times (notice the tongue sticking out to catching the snowflakes). He also loved his hat covering his eyes...why? I don't know.

Ian absolutely loved his snowman but unfortunately a few hours after coming in our home someone had destroyed it. So Daddy and Ian decided to get creative and build a castle. They built the castle on our front porch -easier to guard and keep an eye on. Plus at night Tim would spray it down with a squirt bottle so that it would freeze.
Ian also loves to shovel. If he could shovel all day long I think he would. The only down side is he finds it more enjoyable to shovel the snow back onto the sidewalks. So solution...put him in the middle of the grass area and let him shovel away!

While now the snow is starting to melt because of the rain we have had (again crazy weather) we still have a blast. Below are some other picture from playing in the snow.

Family Pictures 2010

We were lucky enough to have Lindsay come and take our family pictures. While we love outdoor pictures the weather has been crazy. We decided to snap a few outside and it started snowing so we headed inside. While I really could not decided which pictures to post these are a few of my favorites. Ok...maybe a little more than a few.

1 month old!

I cannot even believe that Aaron is already one month old. It is crazy to think that he was due just over a week ago and yet we have now had him in our family for a month. He is a pretty relaxed and good baby! Plus he is finally getting a little better at sleeping during the night he usually sleeps 5 hours, then wakes up every 2 1/2 to 3 hours after that. He started to smile a little a couple weeks ago but the only person that can get him to smile is his grandma Diamond. Go figure. At his 2 week appointment he had put on a full pound making him 7'11 plus he was 21.5 inches long. I can't wait to see what his stats are at his two month appointment because he has definitely become more chubby and I love it!

As for who he looks like we still do not know it is a mystery!

Fall 2010

What's going on at our house!

There is never a dull moment, or even time to think about having a dull moment with two children. Ian is starting to get good at entertaining himself and playing on his own in his room which is really nice. However, he can make a gigantic mess! Thankful he is pretty good at cleaning it up. Well as good as a two year old can be!
Ian thinks it is hilarious to hide from us in Aaron's crib -I think it is scary. Thankfully Aaron is not sleeping in his crib yet. I am too lazy to walk down the hall 4-5 times during the night to feed him so Aaron still resides in our room. Aaron's room has been arrange so that Ian can't climb in the crib quite so easily.

He still has some reflux but luckily he does not spit up -you can just hear it sloshing.
When daddy is gone to school Ian loves to have his friends over for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Notice he made each of them a plate of food as well.
Ian also loves taking pictures. This is my old camera and Ian thinks it is fun to walk around and tell everyone to say cheese. He even tries to show you the digital picture on the back -even though it is not a digital camera.

Last week we also pulled out the baby toys. Ian had way more fun than Aaron. But he loved surrounding Aaron with a million toys.Of course he wanted to lay in it with him as well!Had to post another picture -Aaron is just so cute!
