Baby update!

I went to the doctor today and had my wonderful glucose diabetes blood test -whatever they call it. It wasn't so bad, everyone was telling me how horrible the drink was but I thought it was pretty good. Anyway, the last time they did an ultrasound was back in January when we found out we were having a boy and they said it looked like big healthy "fat" boy. Today I had another appointment and they decided to double check the size and did another ultrasound. I am currently 29 weeks and 5 days however based upon his weight and size the computer is showing that I am approximately 33 weeks and 5 days. His current weight is approximately 4 lbs and 6 oz and they said that everything looks good. While neither Tim or I is quite sure what to make of this we will just have to be patient till our next appointment in two weeks to hear what the doctor has to say. Too bad neither of us is very patient :)

St. Patricks Day

Happy St. Patrick Day!
I completely forgot that today was St. Patricks Day. My students on the other hand where sure to point out that I was not wearing any green. Luckily for me I tend to use a dark green marker when teaching so I end up with green marker all over my fingers anyway- my students voted and decided they would let that count. Although I am sure that the threat of a possible quiz or extra work did not have any effect on this vote :) I was sure to call Tim after my first class to remind him to wear green. Hope everyone's day went well and no one is bruise from being pinched.

Weekend fun in the sun, blizzard, and rain!

SUN
This week started out sunny and beautiful so Tim decided it was time to take the dog for a nice long run to get out all his energy from being inside most of the winter (except for when it first snows -Pike loves jumping around in the fresh powder). They go all over our neighborhood with the dog running, occasionally pulling Tim be cause he is so excited, and Tim rolling alongside on his long board.

Blizzard and Rain
Just when all of us get used to the warm Spring like weather suddenly a blizzard/white out hits mix with the occasional rain storm. Although it was not long lasting only about 1/2 hour. Saturday morning it was snowing a little but then it let up so Andrew and Tim decided to go clay pigeon shooting (while I sat in the car and ate my Tigers Blood Snow Cone).

Andrew claims that he has only been shooting once. But Tim and I have to wonder if he has a side job as a sniper. Needless to say we'll watch our backs.

As for me I spent this weekend do something I have never thought nor did I think I would ever do....
I made a baby blanket. It did not take very long I started it Sunday afternoon and finished it after work on Monday. It is super soft with the blue fleece on the front and what is called ultra soft fleece (red) on the back. I even went through and stitch around the stars in the pattern so that it would hold two fabrics in place better. I don't believe I will be making anymore though one was good enough.

You look really pregnant!

These were the words that so lovingly (sense the sarcasm) came out of my husbands mouth Friday night. Needless to say and don't think he will be saying these precise words anymore because the second he said it I believe he saw the returned look on my face and immediately retracted the comment :) Below is my very comfortable sweat outfit that brought him to say such kind and loving words you be the judge.
We are counting down now- 11 weeks and 5 days to go. However the doctor did guess that I was going to deliver early and if that is the case then I have 11 weeks and 1 day. Although I am sure at my next appointment she'll probably tell me I am going to deliver late- wouldn't that be sad. Hope for early everyone!!!

Ella and Pike all grown up

Then (Aug 6, 2007)

&

Now (March 8, 2008)

For those of you who do not know this is our neighbor Ella with our dog Pike. Yes, we wish we could claim her as ours. She is the cutest girl ever so we love taking pictures of her whenever possible. It is amazing how much she has grown. Ella was looking out the window watching cars so we decided we needed an updated version of the picture. Pike wasn't really up for looking out the window but don't worry Ella took control of that with a little captain crunch - tada!

She also discovered a new game. The dog carrier can be used as a tunnel!?! Her mom Lisa in the background who is expecting a little boy in about 4 weeks. She is how I survive my days. We have decided that it's probably a good thing I continue to work next year or between the two of us we'd probably never get anything done.

One of my favorites. Ella came out of the "tunnel" and pike gave her a wonderful kiss. Unfortunately it was a little wet as you can tell by Ella's expression.

I am pregnant what is your excuse

Just this past week my stomach has all of the sudden decided to grow and seems to be bigger than usual. The baby has most recently been kicking at my ribs I am pretty sure that the right one is bruised. This week at school we start a new trimester so I will be teacher about 120 new students. Along with my other coworkers we have decided that when students say things like, "You look big," or all those other crazy things students say I will simply reply "I am pregnant what is your excuse!" Yes I know completely heartless and rather cruel but it gave me a good laugh and hopefully will give you one too.
