Freedom!

We had another doctors appointment this afternoon (currently at 35 weeks and 2 days). They finally did an ultrasound (it seems like we have been waiting forever) and he is currently at 6 lbs 2 ounces, she thinks that he will be 8 lbs when I deliver. His body measurements were in the 58 percentile and his head was measuring in the 98 percentile. Basically everything is measuring where she would like it to be at this time but he has a big head. Which came as no surprise to us considering big heads run in the family. Other than that I am still dilated to a 1+ (or however they say it) and 70% effaced.
She also gave me the ok that I can go back to work. So tomorrow work begins -not sure how I feel about it at this point considering we have been running around town all day and I am completely exhausted but we'll hope for the best (although the 3 hours of sleep I was able to get last night I am sure did not help). Oh and I have decided that since they tell you to count how many times you feel them move in an hour it would be easier for me to count how many times he is not moving because he is constantly moving -thus making it very easy for me to sleep (sense the sarcasm). But hey, at least I know that he is there!

Boredom at it's best!

Well I thought that I should update our blog but I have nothing to update it with.  Went to the doctor again on Wednesday- I thought she asked if I could make it another two weeks. But apparently I only heard what I wanted to hear because Tim says that she said, "You think you can make it another 4 weeks." The answer to that would be "No." Yes I know I have very selective hearing. My next appointment is on Monday the 28th and they scheduled an ultrasound so we can estimate his size again.

As for Tim and I nothing too exciting. He is at work today (Behavioral Health unit- dealing with the crazies) so I am doing laundry -but if he asks I have been laying in bed all day :) He has been a wonderful husband, even if occasionally there is an eye roll here and there for having to do what he says are silly things like -wash all the walls and baseboards. He does it all happily even the dishes, laundry, vacuuming, making breakfast, lunch, and dinner -and cleaning up after he makes it all.
Thought this picture represented Tim well (Taken last summer at Disneyland).

SNOW CONES!
The snow cone place in smithfield is finally open. Lately that is all I have wanted for weeks and weeks. I am sad to say that the people here in Smithfield at the snow cone shack now know Tim by name. He goes up to the window to get one for me and she says something like, "Hello Tim, another snow cone for your wife, we didn't see you yesterday."  (It was snowing that day so I though it would be kind of funny for me to want a snow cone when it was snowing).  But oh boy are they good. Note: Don't eat ginger cookies with Tigers Blood snow cones it is not a good combination.

Nursery

Many of you have been asking to see the nursery. Well there is not really much to see but a chair and a dresser. My dad is building the crib and doing a wonderful job! We are hoping that everything will be done and ready by the first of May. Here are a couple of pictures of how far he is getting on the crib. He is going to be building the arch for the back this weekend!
This is what the finished product will look like but knowing my dad it will probably look even better- and we know it will definitely be built much better.
Other than this we finally ordered a car seat on Monday-hopefully that will arrive soon and we have his crib bedding- everyone says to do neutral colors so you can us it for a boy or a girl but most of the neutral things are winnie the pooh or lambs -and I do not like winnie the pooh or lambs. So we picked out an airplane crib set. Once everything is all set up you can be sure I will post some pictures since I can no longer do much of anything else.

Bed rest :(

Little did we know Tuesday was my last day of freedom. I called the doctor on Tuesday because I was spotting so they had me come in and test if it could be a UTI. I didn't think it was because I didn't have any of the signs besides being sore, back pains, etc. which every pregnant woman has. They called back and said that I did (much to my surprise) and put me on a medication. Well Wednesday still spotting so I called the doctor and requested to come in (the nurse even knew who I was when I called- I am not sure if that is good or bad). The nurse said to go on bed rest then come in first thing on Thursday because my doctor was in surgeries all day. So I did and this is what I found out....

She looked over the ultrasounds from last time (I was 29 1/2 weeks it was showing that he was about 34) and she said that they were correct he was measuring big so they are going to do another ultrasound at my next appointment on Wednesday to see how far he is then. Then because of the spotting she did an exam and found that I am dilated to a 1 and a half, the lining is thinning and he is is a good position for labor.

Problem: I am only 32 weeks and 5 days and he appears to be ready to come. So today they had me go up to Labor and Delivery today were they monitored me for 20 min (but it took 1 hour and 15 mins) and gave me a shot of steroids to help the babies lungs mature. In the 20 minutes the heart beat looked great and I had 2 contractions (very small I didn't feel a thing). So now the doctor put me on Bed rest for 3 weeks.

Any suggestions on what I am going to do for three weeks would be helpful (TV, movies, books, get really good at Sudoku). The doctor said that I am to stay in bed, not be lifting anything over 5 lbs, and that a walk to get a drink or something to eat isn't bad but nothing but that. Basically nothing. She doesn't not want the slightest chance of him coming before I am 36 weeks.

It is crazy how you think why is this happening we didn't need this now all while you are trying to convince yourself "I am sure there is a reason" -and yet there always turns out to be a reason. As many of you know Tim put in his notice for managing for Target, and they turned around and let him go much early than we had planned on. While we were both very frustrated with the situation and not happy about it, his last day is tomorrow and now I have been put on bed rest. So he will be here to help me out around the house and pretty much be there whenever I need him, as he puts he is now my slave. At work I have just felt that I needed to get everything ready for the end of the year-day by day layouts, copies made, tests and quizzes made and copied, lesson plans, etc. Well right before spring break I finished everything for all of my class and all the copies are made and organized and ready to go. I even found a sub that will take over my classes should I have the baby early (she is currently student teaching at logan high and her last week is this coming week). Surprise, Surprise it is a good thing that I got everything taken care of as I will not be there for three weeks. As I said before it is funny how things work themselves out -we know that heavenly father is watching over us.

Last Day of Freedom.
Tuesday we babysat our cute neighbor Ella. While her mom and dad went to the hospital. We were hoping they would be gone longer because we absolutely adore Ella (and we a pretty fond of them too) but it turned out that it did not take as long as expected. So they met up with us as we were eating A&W. Tuesday is both of our husbands days off so we decided that we need to do something fun, or just something at all. We went bowling (there is not much else to do in Logan) and for once Tim beat me- although you can't give he too much credit the extra weight in the front threw me off :) Needless to say it was quite entertaining.

Ella even got a turn.

Our wonderful neighbors.

Spring Break!!!

It is Logan High School's spring break (where I teach mathematics). I think I was more excited than my students that it was spring break. We even get a whole week off, no school Monday-Friday!!! My plans for spring break -spring cleaning (but not too much because Tim is going to be helping with that a lot next week). Other than that just wait for my neighbor to have her baby which should be any moment now.

While doing laundry today Pike find found a lost friend that he hid in our closet- then he decided to tear out his eye (because then he can pull out all the stuffing). So I put it on the night stand as I watched dancing with the stars. And the pictures explain the rest.

VICTORY!!! I then took it away and put it up on a higher shelf in the office and he decided to give up.

Pike loves the Target dogs -well he loves to tear out their eyes. Unfortunately he will not be getting any more because Tim's last day managing at Target is this Friday! Then he will be going back to school this summer to work on getting his RN, then his AP-RN. Don't ask me what it is because I am not exactly sure I really know. Until then he will be returning to work on the behavior health unit part-time so maybe he will see some of you there (just kidding).

No news is good news- but something would be nice.

I having been looking forward to my doctor appointment today since my last appointment with the nurse practitioner where she did an ultrasounds. When they did an ultrasound at 29 and 1/2 weeks it was showing up like I was almost 34 weeks (based on size, blah, blah, blah). So today I went to the doctor -glucose test was normal, blood still looks good but slightly anemic (she considers under a 12 anemic and I was an 11.9), then I asked her about the ultrasound and she was not aware that they did an ultrasound it somehow wasn't mention to her. I explained what the ultrasound showed and my concerns (like a 12 pound baby?!? -Tim was almost 11 lbs. when he was born) and she said she would look at them later today and would be sure to call if there were any concern and if not she will plan on seeing me in two weeks and discussing it further with probably another ultrasound to double check. So basically no news, which is good news-everything is right on track as far as just stomach measurements and my weight gain -she says it is moving right on track like textbook.
