Bike Rides!

In the summer Tim and I love going on bike rides around Smithfield. We did find out this week that we can successful fit both bikes and Ian's chariot into our Murano (if only summer wasn't over -oh the places we could go)! One afternoon we headed out for a bike ride and bumped into the Jeppesen's just getting ready to go too. So we all decided to head down to Logan River.

After many bike rides and playing in the dirt it is a good thing he absolutely loves showers!

Park City

This weekend we headed to Park City with my family for a getaway before school begins (for most of us -Tim is already in school so for him it was a break) and for a little back to school shopping. Ian loved running around the condo and was super excited upon arriving there and hungry as well. The boy never stops eating!Ian loved having tons of people around to play catch with. We all had fun making pictures on the doodleboard -thus my mom's creation. Got another stank eye picture of Andrew. Played the board game Trouble over and over and over and over and over...yes I could keep but you get the point. Got in some shopping. Played and ran around in the rain. Ate lots of good food. Watch some good movies. Had tons and tons of fun!

We got to Park City late Friday afternoon and Ian just wanted to run around in the condo. After that wore off we went to the grocery store to pick up some snacks and food. The rest of the night we spent watching movies and playing games. Saturday we headed out shopping. Tim and Andrew came up that afternoon. I don't like going shopping anymore so Tim finds me clothes and I try them on and almost always love them. By trying them on I mean throwing them over my t-shirt like I am going to wait in a rediciously long line to try on a shirt. My favorite find at the mall was a pair of these...

One of the most comfortable and warm shoes ever! I have a tan pair just like them and wore them every day for a year while I was pregnant and teaching. Yes -everyday and I am not even kidding. I LOVE THEM!!! So needless to say they are a little shot. So besides these and my Uggs they will be the only two shoes I need all winter long!!! After a fun day of shopping we headed into Salt Lake City and ate a Tepanyaki Japanese Steakhouse. I forgot my camera and took a couple picture on my cell which as you can tell is not meant for taking nice pictures -but hey it worked.

Tim was very stuffed. Ian loved everything. Our chef was amazing and hilarious. Big fires, tossing knifes, throwing food, and all kinds of things. The chef even commented at how expensive our child is going to be -yes we all ready know this. Ian loves shrimp! In the picture above he is eating sushi with his chopstick. He loved the sushi too -gross. It was Maki Sushi -the california roll which is pretty much a crab mix, avacoda, and cucumber. Ian loved it and even the seaweed. Go figure he doesn't like eating lettuce but likes seaweed. The chef thought Ian was quite funny and in return Ian thought he was quite funny and would laugh whenever he would. Ian had a blast and would probably loved to go again tomorrow, but based on the bill maybe next year. The food was great and the entertainment was even better!

Sunday we packed up to head home and Ian played at the park.

He loves going down slides and is really good at going down them by himself as long as they are not too fast (we discovered that today at willow park). When he see slides he goes running and climbs the stairs then turns around to go down the slide on his belly. I don't have a clue where he learned this. I didn't see any kids doings this but he sure thinks it is funny. We had a great time in park city it was definately nice to get away for a little while. Thanks mom and dad for getting the condo and inviting us along!

Work Work Work

Work started up again for the school year last Monday. Not terrible horrible just four hours a day with workshops and lesson study. The first day Erin watched Ian and after that I have been able to just bring him to work with me. Well I probably shouldn't bring him with me because it makes it much more challenging to actually work but everyone loves him.

Tuesday we stayed the whole four hours which cuts into Ian's naptime. It did not go so well screaming child destroying everything in sight -it was pretty bad. So the second day we stayed for just over two hours and he was excellent. We decided to go and get a couple new toys to play with for the rest of the week. He loves his new toys so I had to snap some pictures.

Toy 1: Blue water ball. Sounds scary water/ball. No it is tons of fun and bounces really well. Another teacher had one at school and Ian had a blast throwing it everywhere and watching it bounce around. When we were at Shopko we saw one and Andrew (my brother that works there) said as long as you aren't throwing them in a pile of sharp rocks they are pretty hard to break -him and his coworkers tested them out and never did break one (although they did break a few other things). Needless to say Ian loves the ball but of course still has to have his other ball.

Toy 2: Doodleboard. I am not sure who decided this toy is for children ages 3 and up but they are idiots. Ian loves it! He can use all the shapes and loves scribling with the pen. The picture you see is what he did. I did not help in anyway. The first day we got it provided a good hour of entertainment! Now it is like any other toy and lasts about 5 minutes before he wants to do something else. Oh well I have fun coloring on it too!

Careful!

My son is hilarious. Everyday he says or does something new that just cracks me up. He is 14 months old and yesterday I must have told him "be careful" a lot. But given the chain of events just yesterday morning (fell down couple stairs before I could catch him, hit his head on anything and everything, managed to scratch the tip of his nose on a chair) be careful or as he likes to say it "yo goko" was much needed.

I was preparing dinner and he was saying "yo goko" which made sense because usually I let him help but tell him that we have to be careful. So when he was repeating "yo goko" I didn't think to much of it but turned too see what was going on. Ian managed to get out my wallet that was zipped in the diaper bag from when we went to the grocery store that afternoon -(driver's license still missing). After I did a quick video on the camera the wallet was quickly put very very high on a shelf.

I can't believe summer is coming to an end. Tim is already back in school and starting on Monday I will be back to teaching. We had a great summer and I had quite the list of things to accomplish this summer (organize pantry, deep clean, reorganize Ian's closet -he is growing like a weed, painting projects, etc.). With my long list of things I wanted to do get done this summer I only did the most important one of all -Enjoy my summer with my family! Maybe next summer I will get some of those things done -nah!

Diamond Reunion!

This weekend we got together for a Diamond Reunion. Everyone had fun playing at the pool even if they did not get in. However with the amount of water balls flying around everyone still got wet!

After playing at the pool for a few hours we all headed out to Pepperridge farm to stock up on goldfish, milanos, and other cookies. Once we cleared out the store -not really but Brittney and Cisco did come close -we heading back to my parents house for dinner.

The Ian and Chelsea loved watching the fish. Ian kept trying to get in the pond. Andrew being the good uncle he is usually dips his toes in and he loves it.

It was so good getting to see Brittney and Cisco it has been way to long. They have been stationed in Japan with the Air Force for the last four years. Now they are off to Germany on Tuesday and who knows maybe we'll be able to visit them there!!!

Moo!

When outside with the neighbors last week their little girl was saying "Moo" a lot. It was super cute and I was wondering if Ian could do it. He is a little bit younger than her but he is pretty smart. He is really good at repeating anything you say. Plus after a week of frustration and very loud high pitched screaming he is remembering to use his keywords like more, milk, nana (banana), done, hi, bye bye, dank du (thank you). At Erin's house a couple weeks ago he even said his first sentence "I want more!" She was making french toast and Ian loves his food. Anyway I taught him a couple of sounds of different sounds and he picked it up super fast!

As you can see he doesn't hold still for very long. He is a little busy body!

Idaho Falls

This past week Tim started school and was working so Hunter, Ian and I headed down to Idaho Falls to visit Grandma and Grandpa Diamond for a few days.

We feed the ducks and geese -lots of them! Ian loved throwing the bread to them.

We took pictures by the temple and looked at the falls.
We went to the zoo -which Ian loved as well.Ian and Hunter. Ian sticking his hand where he probably shouldn't. Baby camel just a couple weeks older than Ian. Ian loving life!

Ian was suprisingly good and stayed in his stroller most of the time. However when we looked at the Lions he wanted to climb in the fence and play with them.

Ian loved pretending Hunter was a horse. If he did not obey Ian would pull his hair to make him trot -it was not very nice but unfortunately quite funny. He loves his Uncle!
Ian's favorite part of the trip was probably playing with grandma's coasters. He especially loved the doily ones and would try to pick them up with his toes, or put them on his head. Whether it was morning or night he would always have a coaster with him. By the time we left they were scattered around the house.
