All Boy!

Fall 2010

We have been super busy with just life like everyone else -but Ian is still as funny and completely full of energy as ever. Plus as you can tell he is not too fond of wearing clothes!

He got a frog tattoo. Don't worry it was Tattoo Tuesday and may students gave me one to bring home to Ian. It is not permanent of course.
It was homecoming week at LHS so I took Ian to the parade. Lets just say I have the best students ever. Ian had an entire grocery bag overflowing with candy. Finally other kids started coming over by where we were standing because there was candy everywhere. We were still picking up candy after the parade was over. Below he is covered in taffy so we just went straight to the tub.

and had fun there too!Like most boys he loves his reptiles. Here is Sal our Salamander. Sometimes (only when daddy is home) we let Ian get Sal out of his cage and play.
As you can tell he doesn't mind his slimy body one bit.
Ian has become a pro at riding his tricycle. We are thinking for his birthday it is definitely time for an actually bike. Plus he loves his Grandma Diamond.But not as much when she cuts his hair.
Like I said he loves to run around -luckily this time in his underwear.He is full of energy and loves to play all day
and night long!

Idaho Falls Vacation

Over Labor Day weekend Ian and I headed up to Idaho Falls with my family. We needed a break and thought it would be nice to see my grandparents new home. As always upon our arrival there was a delicious cake awaiting us. Their home was beautiful, but like most people with no children in the home there are not to many kid things to do. However, while the grandparents are away the kids will play :) Thanks to Hunter and his creative ideas we did just that.

We even headed out to the mall and did a little shopping. My mom found this hat and it was a must have for Ian. Even now he still loves that hat especially when daddy or grandpa were their hat as well.
Even Great Grandpa Diamond had to wear Ian's hat!While it was a quick visit we still found lots of ways to stay entertained!

Nan Visit

While things so far have been fairly low key they are about to kick into full gear. I have started back to work last week and Tim starts school this next week. Tim is in his second semester of RN school so basically September is going to be what we call the month from down under. With me nearing the end of my pregnancy and working full time, while Tim is in in school with clinicals full time, and work part time. We were not quite sure what we were going to do with Ian because we did not know what days we needed a babysitter for. Tim would be shadowing another nurse and therefore work their same schedule which we found out a week prior to when it began. Luckily Tim's mom decided that she would come out to Utah during her time off from work. Which happen to be right when we really needed a babysitter. So the last week in August she arrived and stayed until the second week in September.

Ian had a blast! He loved playing and doing all kinds of different activities every day. Between painting, coloring, playdoh, making books, etc I think they did it all. During this time Nan and Amy were busy making a quilt for the new baby and then decided they had enough material that they could make a quilt for Ian's bed. The baby quilt is darling and Ian's quilt is still in the process. It is the same as the babies just full size.

Nan even managed to find some material to make a cap for Ian. Although it is currently being used as a marching platform. The funniest moment of Nan's visit was when Ian had bath time. Nan was playing cars with Ian in the bath tub and apparently she decided that she was wet enough she might as well just get in. How many grandma's would do that? Ian loved every moment. We are so grateful that you were able to make it out and help get us through the first few rough weeks. Thanks for coming!

Park City, UT

Every year my family heads to park city for a week in the summer -it has become a tradition. I don't know when it started, or how it began, but we always go and have a blast. On our drive down to Park City we decided to take Ian to the zoo. Ian loves all living things, especially the creepy crawly ones (gag). When we got their we headed straight to the bird show -Ian was tired but still liked when the birds would fly just centimeters from the top of your head. Of course we also had to stop and see the baby elephant Zuri.
When leaving the zoo we stopped by the gift shop. Ian picked out a super soft giraffe and asked if he could have it. Lately anything we buy for him when we go to leave the store he freaks out saying "not mine, put it back, not mine." Even after explaining it to him multiple times he still gets upset. Nonetheless we purchased the giraffe and to our surprise he was over excited. He loves it and tends to carry it around with him everywhere. Occasionally Mr. Giraffe even gets to eat dinner with us -but because he is a toy he has to have toy food :) After the zoo Ian was super tired and crashed the rest of the ride to PC.

We stated at the Park City Resort -they have at least five hot tubs and a large pool. Ian loved the hot tubs because the were all connected and had waterfalls all over. As you can tell he also had a blast playing with Hunter. It was also great because they had activities for kids planned everyday that you could participate in for free all day long -so we did pudding painting, cookie decorating, and a lot of other fun things.

Between all the rainstorms (which were everyday on and off) we managed to catch some rays.(daddy and Ian's footprints)

After spending time in the pool -Ian and Hunter would have fun playing in the super large bathtub.

We also brought all of our bikes up and were able to go out on a few bike rides. One of our rides passed by this great park which we all enjoyed. Ok, maybe not Andrew since he was too busy playing on his phone :)

One day we literally walked out our door and headed to the alpine slide, coaster, and zip line. This is a picture Andrew took while we were riding up the chair lift to the top of the alpine slide. The resort we stayed at is at the bottom of the lift.

Ian loved the slide -if it was not so ridiculously expensive I would have loved to take him down it again and again. He kept telling me "go, go, go!"

We even managed to get in a little bit of school and baby shopping. Don't worry we did not actually buy any of the items you see in this picture :)
Ian had a blast running around the resort and loved looking out the windows and watching the people. As you can tell from this blurry picture he always found ways to keep entertained. He is wearing Andrew's basketball shorts -they are just a little big.

While the weather was not the best we still had a great time. Plus we got to see a beautiful double rainbow -pictures do not do justice.

Not to mention we are getting better at packing lighter! Although with another one on the way soon that is bound to change :)

Preston Fair

On Thursday we headed to the Preston, Idaho parade and fair for Family night. Ian as always loved the parade. The best was when the cheerleaders marched by and Ian was clapping his hands and marching along with them. He also loved the "mbulance" and the horses. After the parade ended we headed to the fair grounds to take Ian on a couple of rides.

This was the first ride we took him on. I'll admit I was a little nervous because parents were not allowed (honestly if I can ride his gator I am pretty sure I would be fine in here). However he loved it all by himself! He wanted to ride it again and again. The first time he rode he pressed the horn the entire time and thought it was hilarious.

This was the fastest moving line so we decided to let him ride it again. On the second ride he was in the blue truck. Unfortunately his horn did not work but the one behind him did. Ian spent the remainder of that ride turned around pressing the horn. While the other boy did not like it -Ian continued to do so anyway.
Ian has been potty trained for a long time and it has been great! However as with any child public bathrooms especially outhouses are horrible. So lately when we go to public places like this I put his portable potty in the trunk of the car. Best idea ever!!! No dirty disgusting bathrooms, no distractions, glorious! Sure enough at the fair he had to use the restroom so we ran to the car while daddy waited in line. Moments later we were back and it was just about our turn.

This ride made me very nervous. Ian is not exactly the sit and hold still kind of kid. He is more of the thrill seeker. jump with my eyes closed. So the fact that his ride comes off the ground a good 8 feet was quite worrisome -because they are not harnessed tightly inside. So no surprise -he loved it! He would wave to everyone and anyone when flying by that would give him attention. Luckily he did not lean out too far -but thought it was a blast to be "bigger than everyone."
While we wanted to take Ian on a few more rides the night ended early with a huge rain storm. But we loved every minute!

24th of July Activities

Mendon, UT

For the 24th of July our friends the Hendrickson's invited us to head out to the Mendon activities. Let's just say we will definitely make that a tradition from now on! Ian had a blast -the parade was short with great candy, the food was cheap, the games were cheap, the entertainment was great, and it was extremely family oriented.

After the parade we headed to the city center and had some wonderful food. 3 hot dogs, 2 hamburgers, 1 pretzel, 2 bags chips, 2 drinks all for $12. When we finished eating out came the firetrucks. They spray the hose all over for the kids to run through, plus they have a couple on the ground that the fire people spray. Ian was not too crazy about the bubble -foam sprayer but thought the water was entertaining. You would not know it but the hose on the far left -we though we would just feel a mist. Nope- that shoots out a lot of water. Ian and I were wet from head to toe!

Then we headed over to ride the pony's which Ian also loved.
Went down the giant slide (and did not want dad or mom to help him). When he first started down his eye's were really big. About half way down decided he wanted to do it again.

We even played some games and won lots of prizes!
All in all it was a great day!

Mack Park

One of our favorite places to go during the summer is Mack Park. Ian loves playing in the water especially if he has a friend to play with like Ellie. Brock loved the water too, while Issac not so much :) We have also been able to go on a few bike rides in the evenings because it is too warm during the day up Logan Canyon. Ian has loved going for bike rides!
