Christmas take two

Jimmer and Amy spent Christmas with her family this year. However they were able to head up our direction for a couple of days and we had Christmas all over again. I don't think Ian was quite sure what to do with all of these new presents but he was happy to rip right into them.

Tim got an ipad for Christmas...which we all love. Ian thinks that it is his and only his at times. He will ask "Where my ipad dad?" We have had to set a time limit on how long he is allowed to play games. His favorite was Monkey Preschool but he now thinks that is too easy. He prefers to play a game called Mirror's Edge. It is a running game where he runs this person across the top of buildings in a city and has to jump different obstacles etc. At first I was thinking that sounds fun. However when you get far enough in the levels then there are people chasing you and trying to kill you to be exact. Still sound like a good game? Well Ian is really good at it that he literally never gets caught plus we don't let him play certain levels. He absolutely loves it. So while I am not a big fan of the game for now it will have to do.

Christmas

Christmas morning we all woke up at a decent hour. Ian did not get out of bed until nearly 9:00 am. We had laid out the stockings the night before so Ian was quite excited to see what santa had left. His stocking was full of exactly what he had asked for... coloring books, markers, and paints.
Ian wanted to open his paints right then. Me getting the goobers out of Aaron's eyes.
I think Ian would have been happy all day just coloring. In his mind I believe he thought Christmas was over. After pulling him away from his coloring book we had our usual Christmas breakfast of juicy rolls.

My brothers, parents, and grandparents arrived. Then we headed downstairs to the christmas tree. Ian was very surprised and excited to see all of the presents. Insert Video clip -
Ian and Aaron were absolutely spoiled. I think Ian's absolutely favorite toy that he still plays with (now that I am writing this in April) is his Buzz lightyear set from his Uncle Andrew. It has a utility belt, disk shooter, and special binoculars. Although he also loves his duplo legos, camera, various games, car sets and carriers, and movies. He also loves his new piggy bank grandpa MacNair brought him. Ian would always ask why I have to go to work. Tim and I would explain so that we can have money. Now everyday I work he asks me for some money to put in his piggy bank.
Ian got a giraffe to lay for Christmas as well. However Aaron loved it so much that after Christmas we went and got one for him too.

Aaron was quite content and happy all day. If someone is holding him then he is loving life.

He also loves the attention -which he gets a lot of!At the end of the day we made various smoothies and ice cream with my new BlendTec I got for Christmas. Everything was delicious.

After Christmas the kids had a great time lounging around and playing with all of there new toys.

We also had a little too much fun with all of the new remote control helicopters.
It was a wonderful day! We are so grateful to have such wonderful families and be so blessed.

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we headed over to my parents house for a wonderful Turkey dinner. Then opened up pajamas! Ian was super excited about his pajamas and slippers!

As always we read "The Night Before Christmas" and from the scriptures the birth of Jesus.

Ian picked the cookies that he had decorated to set out for Santa that night.

Christmas Treats

Our favorite part about Christmas is all of the yummy treats! We were not lacking in that department at all. Ian loves making sugar cookies and of course we had to make a gingerbread house as well. When making sugar cookies Ian has to help with everything! Making the dough, rolling the dough, cutting the cookies, making the frosting, checking to make sure the cookies don't burn, taste testing the frosting, frosting the cookies, and sneaking as much dough and frosting possible without me catching him.

As for Aaron -he is quite happy just chillin' and watching everyone from his chair.The week before we dipped all kinds of Oreo's in chocolate for neighbor gits!

Yes they were delicious!

We also had a pizza party and made homemade rootbeer!
I am not a big fan of gingerbread houses but can't break tradition. So Nan, Tim, and Hunter helped Ian make quite the house.

Yes if you look closely you will notice that the marshmallow snowman has brown rolls behind him. Tim created that. I am sure you can put the two together.
Yep- that's my husband people?!?!

Ski Trips

Tim's parents enjoy skiing and always plan a ski trip out to Utah in February. We just happened to get hammered with tons of snow (although not near close to what they got back east) while they were here. So of course they headed up to Beaver a couple times to get in some good skiing & snowboarding.

Christmas Lights

Tim's parents were able to come to Logan and spend the holiday's with us. Tim had an interview in Provo the next morning at 10:00 am and with the snow it was bound to take a while. So we decided to head down to Salt Lake the night before and meet his parents to see the Christmas lights on Temple Square. As always the lights were beautiful and Ian was very excited to see his grandma and grandpa MacNair.

Aaron was with us too all bundled up. Can you find him???

We try and get a family picture here when we go every year. Ian is in this stage where he does not want to have his picture taken. Can you tell? So while we tried, this was as good as it got.
Anyone have any guesses as to why Tim has his leg beveled?
After we headed back to the hotel hoping to make it out in time for some dinner. Baby was hungry we were hungry and everything was closing. Of course baby came first and we ended up ordering room service. The next morning Tim headed to his interview early because of the snow (Tim's interview went well but the job ended up not being quite what we were looking for). We headed to breakfast then took the kids swimming at the pool.

Tim's parents forgot there suits. Well let me be specific for our readers :) Tim informed his dad to bring their swimsuits but did not relay the message. So Nan ended up just sitting on the stairs in her clothes. I have no doubt that she would have happily jumped in had the water been a little (a lot) warmer. Ian still loved it, mommy dealt with it, and as for Aaron...

he could not have been happier to have grandma and grandpa rescue him to get out of the water.Considering it was a blizzard outside when we left I forgot our swim shoes at home. So Ian and I headed back to our room in our winter boots.
Tim parents headed to their room and we headed to ours to get ready for the day. Nan was going to come up and help us out but I decided I could handle it. I got Ian in the shower, feed the baby, dragged the soft comforter and sheet off the bed and onto the bathroom floor, laid the happy baby there, jumped in the shower with Ian myself, then jumped out and got us all ready. Tada!

Aaron was was quite content the whole time!We had a great time down in Salt Lake and as always loved looking at the lights.
