Ouch!

Today Ian and I played in the house. It was 102 degrees outside and that was just too warm. Finally later in the evening it started to look a little cooler -not much but the sun was hidden behind some clouds and Ian and I had been in the house too long. We put the dog on his leash and shoes on then headed outside.

Ian loves walking the dog and when Pike goes too fast he yells "Iiiiiiik." So as usually Ian had a hold of the dog leash and as I was reaching to grab the leash ahead of him -so I am more in control of both of them. Pike took off before I could grab it and Ian didn't let go of the leash. He fell on the sidewalk and his finger was scratched up between the sidewalk and the leash. He ended up tearing off the right half of his finger nail completely. Even after realizing his hand was bleeding he still wanted to walk to the dog -crazy boy! From previous experience with our neighbor I knew they would just clean his finger and bandage it up if I took him to the hospital -(I would have had to go to the ER and I am not paying around $200 dollars for them to throw on a band-aid.

So tada....the Jeppesen's helped us because it was a bit of a struggle to get him to hold still while I tried to clean and bandaged it.

This is the third bandage in under an hour -and it has lasted. He pulled off part of it in the picture above but I quickly fixed it.I couldn't just put a band-aid on his finger (even the finger ones) he would pull them right off. So I got gauze and band-aid tape and wrapped him all up. I had to wrap it down around his hand or again he would pull it right off. So I am not sure how I am going to keep it on for a while because we have to be very careful of infection but luckily his 15 month appointment in another week so I think I will just schedule it a little early and have the doctor wrap it up.
