Summer Days

The month of July has been great! We have loved be home and keep thinking we should plan a vacation but really we are just enjoying have time at home all together. It is crazy that in just a few weeks I will return to work and then Tim will start back up in school. I am dreading every moment of it but trying not to think about it at all. He are a few things that we have been up to this summer.

Ian loves imaginative play. Of course he would like to wear his buzz lightyear pajamas all day and night -sometimes I let him and we enjoy the day. When potty training him in May he had a sticker chart and earned a sticker each time he went to the bathroom. After he earned so many -the first time 10, then 20, 30, 40 he was able to earn a toy. Since he loves toy story he earned all of the characters and loves running around the house playing with them. He always argues "I am buzz lightyear" whenever his toy buzz says it is buzz lightyear. He hits the laser button on his pajamas and runs around the house shooting things. He also presses the wing button and his arms pop out as wings as he tuns crazy through the house.
He plays hide-n-go-seek with his toys. Here he found Rex hiding.
He has also loved pretend that his baby seahorse is a baby. He wraps it up in a blanket and sings "Rock-a-bye Baby" to it (am have been trying to get it on video). We have found that usually when the baby is sleeping it is baby Issac and he puts him in his grocery cart. When the baby is awake he calls him baby Brock. I think he believe's that Brian and Erin's twins are actually his brothers.

We have also been enjoying story time at the park. Although we have never actually made it to story time, we love playing and going to the library after. It is a rare occasion for us all to actually be out of bed by 10 am -Ian included :) Below we are playing at the park with the our neighbors.

We have enjoyed grilling with the family and are very excited for corn on the cob season. Ian loves it, and thinks it is fun to peel it as well.
We have had treats continuously on the counter. Ian liked helping me make cookies and trying to eat the butter.
I let him have a little cookie dough when it was all done. Just like me he would prefer to eat the cookie dough rather than the cookies.

Other than this we have been making messes and loving it.We have also had some time to finish up a few projects. Tim built a shed in the back to keep all the bikes and Ian's outside toys in. It definitely looks much better. Here Tim and Ian are painting the doors for the shed.
Here's to hoping that we continue to have beautiful lazy summer days!

Oh man it's so cute that Ian is that into Toy Story. I love his little outfit. It is so weird to think about you going back to school soon. It's weird when we were in school summer felt quite long, but now I can't believe how fast it goes. Love the shed too, way to go TIM!
