Still sick! Upon returning from New York we took Ian to the doctor New Years eve because he just did not seem to feel well. He had an ear infection along with other symptoms so they put him on an antibiotic. After the weekend he seemed to be doing even worse -wheezing, coughing, runny nose, pulling at his ears, so I called the doctors again and he said to bring him in.

The diagnosis: Ian still had his ear infection so they put him on a different kind of medication I don't think it has done anything and we might have to just wait it out. As for the wheezing and horrible cough. It could be RSV, bronchitis, asthma. They checked his oxygen levels and they were a little on the lower side but ok -then they hooked him up to a machine similar to an oxygen machine but it gave him albuterol. The doctor gave us some to give him at home every four hours and showed us the different breathing signs to watch for. It is now five days later and he still has a horrible cough and is pulling at his ears, but the wheezing is slowly going away.
He is still a pretty happy boy and loves his purple guy from christmas.

Notice his sitting position -he loves to sit like this.

Recently Ian has discovered that he can share his toys and loves to try to share them with the dog -gross! He also loves to play with the dog and steal his toys from him then chase the dog with them and play tug-o-war. It is pretty entertaining -video to come soon.
In other news: I had a doctors appointment right after Ian's appointment because I cannot put on any weight, as hard as I try to put it on I still seem to lose it. I figure most of it was probably from nursing Ian but with my families complaints and lets face it rude comments I scheduled an appointment at their request. Turns out I have hyperthyroidism (which is what Andrew has as well) and also my red and white blood cells were very high so it is starting to attach my own body, some type of autoimmune disease. If you can't tell I really don't know a whole lot about it yet -but I have another appointment coming up on Tuesday so I am sure I will learn more then. Until then if you want to know more you'll have to talk to my mom, because thankfully she has been the one dealing with all of the doctors, etc.
Now for good news: We got into the hospital daycare! There is a huge waiting list and we have been on it since October. We called on Tuesday morning and they mentioned that they had just had a cancellation that morning and could slip us in Monday thru Wednesday. I don't know how that worked out or how it happened since we were still somewhere in the middle of the list -but I am not complaining. Talk about being blessed!
I can hear grinding on the crib -which means Ian must be up from his nap. Just this last week he has started chewing on the wood of his crib -any suggestions on how to get him to stop would be much appreciated!
