This last week Tim's family rented a condo in Eden, Utah (just up by wolf creek and pineview reservoir). The condo was gorgeous, a little over done in cowboy decorations but gorgeous nonetheless. His parents were nice enough to let us have the master suite with a California King the room also had a twin with a pull out trundle bed that Ian enjoyed sleeping. I have decided that a queen bed is just to small for our bed -I need lots of room!
While up there we did a lot of biking which Ian loves. He also had fun wearing our bike helmets. Don't worry Buzz and woody came along on all of our biking adventures.

And no- I am not sick people -I am just not wearing any make-up! The allergies up there were absolutely horrible. There was so much cotton flying threw the air it looked like snow. There was no point in wearing make-up my eyes watered so much it would have all washed away or I would have looked like Marilyn Madson -ahhhh!
We found a fun place to stop and take a breather -Ian loved throwing rocks and trying to skip them like the big boys.
Ok- many comments could be made about this picture in regards to Tim. I can think of many but..."if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all!" Thus I will leave it at that -looking good babe!

We also were able to do some hiking. We started out by letting Ian walk on his own in front of me. However after having taken 10 minutes to move not even 5 feet away from the car (he had to pick up rocks and look at bugs) we put him in the pack.

He would also growl and the bugs and tell daddy to "Get em" after he got bored watching them.
At the end of the hike we headed into the Butterfly Garden's shop and got some fudge and truffles. Ian did not really enjoy sitting in the butterfly chair though.
Ian had a blast and did remarkably well. The first couple of days he struggled with his naps and would finally get so tuckered out he would fall asleep anywhere. But eventually he got into more of a routine and would take a little nap in the afternoon.
We even managed to fit in some Go Kart racing. Not for little kids though just big kid racing.

After the everyone finished racing they let Ian play the arcade games.
After the girls enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the Spa, that last night we all headed out to see Toy Story 3. It just so happened that we watched Toy Story 2 with everyone the night before (if you haven't seen it in a while I suggest watching it before you see the third). We figured Ian would absolutely love it since you can hardly get his attention if Toy Story 2 is on. Sure enough he did and so did everyone else! Anytime Buzz would disappear off the screen he would shout "Where's Buzz?" The theater we went to was super kid friendly (Walker Theaters in North Ogden) they even had booster seats for the kids to use. Ian loved sitting in his own chair and eating snacks and popcorn. When we got out of the movie we asked Ian if he liked it and he said, "Yeah, again."
One of our favorite places to go during the summer is Mack Park. Ian loves playing in the water especially if he has a friend to play with like Ellie. Brock loved the water too, while Issac not so much :) We have also been able to go on a few bike rides in the evenings because it is too warm during the day up Logan Canyon. Ian has loved going for bike rides!
The month of July has been great! We have loved be home and keep thinking we should plan a vacation but really we are just enjoying have time at home all together. It is crazy that in just a few weeks I will return to work and then Tim will start back up in school. I am dreading every moment of it but trying not to think about it at all. He are a few things that we have been up to this summer.
He plays hide-n-go-seek with his toys. Here he found Rex hiding.
He has also loved pretend that his baby seahorse is a baby. He wraps it up in a blanket and sings "Rock-a-bye Baby" to it (am have been trying to get it on video). We have found that usually when the baby is sleeping it is baby Issac and he puts him in his grocery cart. When the baby is awake he calls him baby Brock. I think he believe's that Brian and Erin's twins are actually his brothers.
We have had treats continuously on the counter. Ian liked helping me make cookies and trying to eat the butter.
I let him have a little cookie dough when it was all done. Just like me he would prefer to eat the cookie dough rather than the cookies.
We have also had some time to finish up a few projects. Tim built a shed in the back to keep all the bikes and Ian's outside toys in. It definitely looks much better. Here Tim and Ian are painting the doors for the shed.
Here's to hoping that we continue to have beautiful lazy summer days!
Ian went down with Tim (since it is not a good idea for me to be going down the slides). Well pregnant or not pregnant I am taking Ian down next time. Tim decided it would be fun to try and go fast -I am sure Ian was all for the idea at first. Then Ian hit his head on the slide a couple times and decided it was not so fun anymore. However they had a blast at the pool and loved playing together. Ian would go as deep into the water as possible and even when the waves were splashing him in the face he would be shouting "Let go mom, let go mom." The child has no fear -I am not sure that is a good thing.
Notice the grump face in the middle left -he was tired and just got hit in the face with a fountain. After a moment of relaxing and then decided to wear his sunglasses he was out and running around with me again.

After the parade we headed to my parents house had a nap then got up and made sugar cookies. Ian loved to be the sprinkler and would say "sprinkle, sprinkle" as he put them on.
That night we had fireworks with my family and Ian was loving all of the attention. He like stomping on the poppers, and fighting like buzz lightyear with the glow sticks.
We were all grateful for a Sunday to rest and recover from the amazing week. On Monday we continued to relax then got together with a bunch of neighbors for even more fireworks. Tim got cut from work that night. Although he did nearly take out all the neighbors with a Roman Candle that tipped over. Everyone put on quite a show. We are not sure how no one got hurt with all of the kids running around lighting various fireworks. Nonetheless we all survived and had a blast. We did learn that the neighborhood cop must be a pretty nice guy because he didn't say anything to all of us and our amazing fireworks :)

Ian has always been great about going to the bathroom. He gets super excited does a little dance and then tries to run away naked. Just a week before he turned two he saw mickey underwear and cars underwear at the store and wanted them. I explained what they were for and we ended up getting them. The next day he wanted to wear them and did great! We have gone accident free for a very long time -with the help of bathroom prizes like Woody, Buzz, and Rex. He is loving it! He likes to do it all by himself and the door must be closed. He usually says, "Mom get out." What is hilarious is when he toots -he opens the door and with a huge grin says with a little chuckle "mom, I tooted." Then jumps back on the toilet.
While we had planned on leaving at 2:00 so that Ian could take a nap it did not work out that way. Finally we came home at 5:30 (with Ian kicking and screaming because he did not want to leave) and began making dinner. We could hardly keep Ian awake so I threw together some leftovers for Ian and then Nan (Tim's mom) feed Ian and attempted to keep him awake long enough to eat.
When I asked him about his favorite part of the day he said the water. I asked him if he wanted to go back another day and he said "No, now." Sure enough when we woke up the next morning he wanted nothing more to do then to go "down slide, swim now." Oh, the joys of summer!
