Ian had his four month check-up today. He is doing great!


New things he is rolling over quite a bit now but only from his tummy to back, he is extremely observant, and he still has his dinosaur talk/scream. I don't think that we could read enough books to him- he absolutely loves them. His favorite right now is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?" And of course he loves his Baby Einstein Mozart video (thanks steph for the heads up on that one). Lately everything goes to his mouth no matter the size. I got him some teether rings to chew but silly me I went to sterilize them and thought I would just put them in our steam bag -and they exploded. Opps, lesson learned :)


As for the rest of us well if you can ever get ahold of us and we don't sound like we are running around with our heads cut off consider yourself lucky. Tim is busy with school and lately the above is about all we see. However usually he would be rolling his eyes at me and saying just a minute (which means 30) or possibily giving me one finger because I am taking 5 seconds of his valuable study time. Hopefully he doesn't read this -but he tends not to so I can pretty much say anything I would like. Too bad at can't think of anything better to say at the time. Nonetheless we still appreciate all the things he does -even if I do tend to notice the things that he doesn't do more :) At least the two of them survive during the day, right!

This week Tim is supposed to get the video up soon of us reading books to him and his dino talking!

White Trash dinner!

As many of you know Tim and I are lucky enough to have my parents live a small 20 minutes away. Every Sunday we go over and have dinner together -because lets face it thanks to my mother it is our one guaranteed 3 course meal for the week. This Sunday they went to Yellowstone so Tim and our made our own meal.

Barbecue chicken with provolone, veggie rice, and corn on the cob.

I like corn but not so much on the cob -I don't like it stuck between my teeth so I cut it off. Tim loves it and could eat a field of it. If you have never seen Tim eat corn on the cob consider yourselves lucky. Well we realized that we did not have corn holders but that was not acceptable for Tim -and being Sunday he created his own.

Yes, that is right toothpicks and electrical tape. It is a good thing no one else ate with us.

Rollie Pollie!

Last Friday (Sept 12) I was on my way home from work and about 2 minutes before I had arrived Tim called me and said that Ian had rolled over. He had laid him down on his tummy and when he came back in the room he was on his back. As soon as I arrived home I tried and tried to get him to roll over but no luck. I began to have doubts that he really had because Tim had worked a grave the night before and lets face it he probably just forgot which way he laid him down.

But sure enough on Saturday I saw him roll over with my own two eyes. He still is in the beginning stage of rolling over and only does it every so often -like when he wakes up from a nap -unless he has wedged himself to deep in the corner. But he is getting better and better at it everyday.
He has most defiantly found his voice and loves to shout -but it could easily be mistaken for screaming. It is mostly funny at times. We'll try and post a video of this soon but no promises you'll like it.
Ian received this present in the mail from his grandma and grandpa. He loves it. At first he kept trying to eat his nose but then the hair would flop in his face and startle him -then he found his tail and all was well. It is the neatest Lion he can chew on it -spit up on it -basically do anything to it and then we just throw it in the washing machine. Needless to say it has already been washed a couple of times. He also loves the books -thanks so much!

Nothing else too exciting going on around her next week he has his 4 month check up- hurray!

Laugh out Loud!

This week Ian has just started laughing out loud. The first time Ian had a really good laugh out loud moment was when hunter was holding him. Apparently Hunter is just funny looking :)

3 Months

We had a wonderful weekend -nothing exciting just enjoyed sitting at home smelling the fresh clean rain. Ian is now 3 months old and neither of us can hardly believe it. This weekend he was such a happy little guy and full of smiles that we missed a few naps here and there because he was just so happy we forgot. Ian is hand crazy -he doesn't just suck on his thumb -he sucks on his whole hand. As you can see he has all of his fingers in his mouth. We can give him a binkie but he insists on his hand and pulls the binkie out to get his hand in. Silly Boy!

I am not quite sure what to say about this picture -basically we're dorks. To bad we couldn't catch Ian laughing in the picture but he did seem to think it was quite funny.

Exhaustion!

Well as many of you know it is that time of year and we are now just two weeks into the start of a new school year. Is it summer time yet???
I believe that Ian will come to know this as his second home. Tim will come on occasion towards the end of school if I have a lot of work to catch up on that way I can still be with him. Ian seems to love it though -he kicks and plays and love all the attention my old and new students and co-workers give him but only as long as I have fed him first.

Lately Tim says that Ian is happy and playing all day but at about 2-2:30 he starts to cry even if he has just finished eating until I get home. Once I get home and feed him he is happy and ready to go all over again. While it is sad that he cries while I am gone, it does make me feel good to know that he misses me. It has been hard to leave him and at times I am utterly exhausted that I am not sure if I will be able to lift another finger but yet we still manage to make it through -day by day- and hurray for this four day weekend.

Tim's mom came out to visit for a few days. It was great to have her here and help Tim adjust to watching Ian during the days. When she arrived Ian seemed happy to see her and was full of smiles. She even watched Ian a couple times while Tim was taking tests for school, which was a big help.

After Tim's mom left we were in quite a pickle. Tim has to takes test every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for his class. The good news is that it only lasts a couple weeks but tests can only be taken those days during specific times of the day -while I am at work. Luckily we have amazing neighbors and I mean amazing!!! Wonderful Lisa took care of her two children and watched over Ian as well. Talk about a full house. We are forever grateful! But don't they both look so cute in their little baseball outfits and they are defiantly entertained. Thanks again!

So when you look to our blog next Tuesday to see what exciting things we have done over this wonderful four day weekend. You will see nothing because nothing is exactly the kind of vacation that we, ok maybe mostly I, need the most.

Say Smile!!

We have been trying to catch Ian smiling on camera for a while now, but every time we would turn on the video camera, he would just stare blankly into the lense. Stopping what ever he was doing and looking quite similar to a deer in headlights, minus the hair. We finally have been able to capture some of his illusive yet cute smiles on tape and spliced them all into this short video. Enjoy, because who knows the next time we will be able to get this on tape!
