Aaron's Birthday

This little boy turned three! He wanted nothing more than a ninja turtle party! He had a smile that could kill and it stayed that way the entire day :)

Weight 30.6 lbs… 37 percentile

Height 36.75 inches… 31st percentile 

My parents were able to come to and help celebrate! He beyond thrilled at the ninja turtle and superhero gear both grandparents spoiled him with. He even helped make the ninja turtle cupcakes -which I must say tasted delicious.

After a few presents that morning we heading to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point. If you are in Utah County the month of October this is a must! We had a blast! The boys were absolutely crazy because they could not decided what to do next. We mined for fossils, played on various wooden toys. Played on the slides, and had fun jumping (in video below).

Some how while mommy was talking with a friend daddy ok'd the boys to get their faces completely covered in paint! Whatever happened to just a little design on the cheek? Not only that I could hardly stand to look at Ian -totally freaked me out. Aaron was venom the bad spiderman, and Ian was a transformer. He looked more like the evil Star Wars character to me.

After playing at Cornbelly's all day we headed home to get working on dinner. Aaron chose __________. We then opened some more birthday presents and as usually if you are not taking a picture of Ian he likes to run through or get in the picture. 

Ava enjoyed celebrating Aaron's birthday as well and mostly people watching at Cornbelly's.

Ava Four Months

Four Month Check-up

Length 26 inches…. 94th percentile

Weight 13 lbs 14 oz… 24th percentile

Head Circumference 40 cm… 26th percentile

I can hardly believe that our sweet little girl is four months old! The time has truly gone by too fast! She is so stinkin cute we just love her to death! Literally all of us can't get enough of her and her beautiful smile!  As usual she did not take kindly to the aftermath of immunizations. She loved snuggling with daddy and chewing on her blanket.

A few milestones….first out loud giggles, love to make noises and try to mimic you, follows you or toys around the room, can roll over from tummy to back (which she has been doing since birth) but we still have never seen her, loves to be held. Maybe we just love to hold her :)

As for the boys! They are loving life! School has been wonderful and they both enjoy every minute. Aaron wishes he could go everyday and Ian wishes he could stay at school all day. We have been watching Ian's friend Gunner in the mornings a couple days a week and the boys have an absolutely blast! Every now and then we invite a couple more friends over and the fun never ends! I had to snap this picture when I pulled into our driveway the other day. The boys were all giggling in the car, and Ava was fast asleep. Did I mention we love our van!

September Mayhem

The month of September has been a blur. Life is moving full speed ahead and doesn't seem to be slowing down. Tim is working full time and in school 3/4 time getting his BSN. Thankfully he is able to complete his BSN through online classes but these class are absolutely ridiculous. There is a reason they call it a BSN because it is a load of BS! The amount of assignments he has is insane he probably writes an average of 10-15 pages a week in essays. Tonight he just handed in a 20 page health promotion project. Blah! Ava loves sitting with Tim while he is working on school -she is addicted to screens. It is kind of scary.

As for me I am busy run around with the kids during the day, and tutoring students in mathematics all night. I picked up a couple extra students this year and it has definitely pushed the limits especially with a new little baby. Thankfully all of my families are aware of this adorable little girl and have been very flexible in scheduling around feedings. 

To add to the fun Pike started "going down hill." Tim and the kids went for a bike ride (which pike loves) and Pike ended up having a heat stroke. We think something else must have been going on prior to the ride since he has been acting weird. But a bunch of medicine, IV fluids, a big fat bill and he was back. Then a couple days later his hair started falling out, and he would not leave his kennel for anything. Yep anything, pillow thrown in the trash along with various towels placed inside for comfort. Another trip to the vet, blood work, x-rays, examination and the vet had no idea what was going on. He might have kidney stones which means special diet, and the hair falling out might just be an allergic reaction. Well another vet trip and Pike continued to get worse. Then a week later his energy started coming back and he was fine. His hair unfortunately will most likely not grow back. Poor thing, he'll really freeze this winter. He is still on death row watch but seems to be doing well. One more vet trip this year and it will most likely be the last :/ 

While all the kids have grown, Ava just doesn't seem to stop!

She keeps trying to suck on her whole hand. I will put her binkie in and she will spit it out and shove her hand in her mouth. We continue this game until she gives up and takes the binkie :)

If you have not heard of the "What does a fox say" song you are missing out. The boys love it and we saw this outfit and had to get it for Ava. We all have fun dancing around the house!

In wonderful news Ava started laughing! Tim was at work so I was attempting to get her to laugh and record her…sorry for the slight wandering. Either way it still is amazingly cute! 

As for the boys…they are still as wild as ever. They have been loving coloring and beg me to print out pictures for them to color everyday. As always they love trying to get Ava to smile and laugh. In the picture below Ava kept "shooting" Ian and he would fall down as if he had been hit.

Ava's Blessing

On September 1, 2013 we blessed sweet Ava Jean MacNair. 

She looked like a little porcelain doll in her beautiful blessing dress. The blessing dress was my mothers blessing dress and it fit Ava perfectly. The shoes my great grandma palmer had knit, and the blanket was knit by my grandma Diamond (which Ian, and Aaron were also blessed with). Tim did a wonderful job blessing Ava, apparently she enjoyed being bounced very quickly during the blessing :) She has been such a joy in our lives and has completed our family. Before Ian was born we always knew our baby girl would be named Ava and we could have never imagined just how wonderful and beautiful she would be!

My family

It was a wonderful day! We ate, talked, ate a little more, talked a little more. We laughed at old scrapbooks and the fact that we used to get together print pictures and make scrapbooks. 

 

We are so blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive family! We have seen them a lot this summer and it has been the best summer!

MacNair's visit

Tim parents came out to visit for a couple weeks the end of August. Life was a little crazy busy at the time with Tim and the kids in school and me tutoring so they had plenty of time to hold and cuddle sweet Ava. Clearly Ava did not mind -but after too long she always wanted mommy.

Within the first couple of days I decided that Papa was banned from holding Ava. Any guess why?

Yep, anytime Papa held Ava she would be sleeping moments later. So Papa was only allowed to hold Ava when it was ok for her to be napping. 

Daddy had to be banned a few times as well.

The boys love having Nana & Papa come to visit.

Kindergarten & Preschool

A couple weeks ago the boys began school. Aaron has been begging to go to preschool since we moved here. You can imagine (and see below) his excitement that the time had finally come for him to attend preschool! We happened to pass an ice cream truck on the way there and Aaron turned down the opportunity to follow it. The school has a drop-off/pick-up service and Aaron was trying to jump out of the car to run inside before we had even come to a stop. That afternoon I received a call from the school. I was thinking oh know he has decided he misses mommy since he has been quite attached to me lately. Nope, he was doing great! The director of the school just called to say how sweet he is and that they would like to move him up a level and into the older class 3/4 year olds. He seemed to connect better with them and his speech and skills are beyond those his same age. Smart little boy :) He is doing great in the older class and asks to go to school everyday.

Ian also started Kindergarten. I can't believe I have a child that is old enough to be in kindergarten?! He was beyond excited for his first day. We could not make it to the bus stop fast enough. He came home and said how much fun he had. His favorite part about Kindergarten was riding the bus to school because they go over this big bump and you hit your head on the ceiling of the bus. He also enjoyed recess and said that eight of them play football and transformers the whole time.  As for the academics...in his words "it is so boring and easy. I write my whole name on my paper and my teacher says I just have to write my first name. That's too easy." Which is true he learned leaps and bounds in pre-school that this is kind of a step backwards. So we are supplementing at home and having a wonderful time. 

These kids are growing up too fast. Everytime I blink it seems that have gone up another shoe size, and need new clothes. Literally Ian is now in size 1 youth shoes. Aaron is not far behind him in size 9.5 toddler. They have been rocking their new converse superhero shoes!

 I was very nervous for Ian to go to Kindergarten and I still am. I know he is ready and it is a step that I have to let him take. Thankfully he has made some really good friends and I just hope and pray that he can remember the things we have taught him! And maybe not so much the things that others have taught him:) We have been hearing a lot of snapping in our house lately.
