Last week Pike, decided he wanted to get up on the couch. Well as he lazily tried to plop up on the couch, he missed judged the height, falling backwards. His little sad whimper could be heard throughout the house. Refusing to use his back left leg, he proceeded to hobble through the house like it would not support the weight of a feather.
We held off as long as we could, about 12 hours, and called the vet. Next thing I know, the vet is being called in for an emergency consult, and we rushed pike in to see the him. An hour later, we get the tragic news over the telephone........... They had to amputate....... Not really, the little rascal had most likely mildly dislocated a joint, or pulled a muscle. Close to one hundred dollars later we picked up Pike, who to our surprise was magically healed. Jumping ecstatically up and down in delight to see us after the traumatic event. At least he was happy I guess, but my wallet sure wasn't, the little faker.
