This week we have a new member of the family. His name is Sal and his is a Tiger Salamander. Brent our neighbor found him outside our homes and Sal didn't seem to be doing very well. We all thought he was on his way out. Long story short he is now currently residing at our house for the next week. He is doing great and loves his new home and is quite the busy body which means he'll fit in well at our house.

Tim's mom will be staying with us next week and she will be taking Sal home to live with her at camp for all of the kids to see and learn about. So for now we are quite excited to have him with us. As for his meals he will have to go outside where Tim will feed him baby crickets.

I am still a little skeptical that Sal is in our home -but I couldn't bare to seen him thrown back outside. I am not sure what we'll do when Ian gets old enough to ask me if the creatures can stay with us in the house, I just don't have the heart to say no to the poor slimy thing. Maybe I'll just tell him that the dog will eat them? That'll work.

Haha, that is so funny, of course dogs eat lizzars, and those types of things. We use to always have one that hung around our window well. Too bad I only let Thomas look at it from the window, it was definitely not allowed in!
you are brave...i would have nothing to do with that thing! Yuck! I hope he makes it through the week, still in his container!
My brother had one of those growing up...they're not too bad. I bet Ian is fascinated with it!
As long as he doesn't escape you should be good right? I don't think I would want one for a pet either. Good thing Tim's mom will be taking him with her. Until then, good luck.
I would have taken him in also, only because it looked like it needed help. I can only imagine how many animals you will end up with when Ian is older!!
