Christmas Prep

Thanksgiving is officially over so the Christmas decorations are going up! The boys helped decorate the Christmas Tree and we celebrated watching one of our favorite Christmas Movie's Prep and Landing!

Our elf "Slinky" arrived December 1st and to be honest the boys could have cared less. After reading the note that Slinky brought watching the movie, and reading the book Aaron decided he was going to kill him. In which Ian informed him he would definitely be on the naughty list. Aaron's respond, "He can't tell Santa if he's dead." Yes, we found this disturbing on many levels. So Slinky was wise and decided to reside in high high places. One day he actually was somewhat low and Aaron tried to break his leg ;(

So while this is a super sweet face, beware something evil is going on in there :/
However, my absolutely favorite thing about the holidays ...baking! Aaron was a pro helping me make pumpkin chocolate chip bread.

Ava enjoys a little pretend baking as well.

Not to mention she is obsessed with hats. I don't get it?! She will not wear a bow at all -but the moment I put a hat on her head she is as happy as can be. I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of this Santa hat all December long. This is the same hat that my Grandma Kathy gave to Ian for Christmas when he was first born. All of our children have loved it.

In other news Ian is really starting to love reading! His absolute favorite is Fly Guy. We have been pretty luck that our library has a lot of the Fly Guy series books. Hopefully he continues to love reading.

The boys have also had a lesson in bathroom manners. For some reason these boys can't remember to wipe or flush. It is absolutely disgusting!

We have been doing various Christmas activities all week long. The kids loved decorating the gingerbread house. Ava just tried to lick and eat everything.
We were also able to attend a live nativity with our friends. Aaron loved it the most. They talked about the wiseman bringing gifts to baby Jesus and Aaron was so upset he did not have anything for the baby. He found a picture on the ground and flattened it out to give the baby.

Now we are gearing up for holiday parties galore! Hopefully we can get Ava to wear clothes lately she prefers to run around in her diaper and Santa hat.
