I love the month of December. The parties and baked goods is just heavenly! And this is about how the kids have felt this entire month!
We started the month out with Aaron's Christmas in the village party. It is one of our favorite events/parties. They have all kids of activities for the kids, food, singing. It is truly magical!
Aaron did not disappoint with his singing abilities. He has been singing these songs for quite some time around the house, so it was fun to watch him finally performer them. They perform their Christmas songs every half hour and Aaron was so excited to perform them a couple of times.
The kids even got to meet Santa -it was no surprise they both asked for Lego sets. Ava decided she would rather sit with the elf (aka Miss Virginia) and look at Santa questionably. Santa held her for a few moments and she had a look of panic the entire time. My parents decided to come down for the event since they had never been to the kids preschool before. Now they know why we love it so much! After a wonderful evening we decided to head over to The Riverwoods and check out the Christmas lights.
They even had a live band that the kids enjoyed dancing to. I love this picture of Aaron and my mom!
Next up was the Ward Christmas Party. This is why I should be better at staying caught up on my blog because I cannot remember where Tim, Ian, and Ava were? I am thinking Ava was asleep for the night and Ian was most likely in trouble :/ We were lucky enough to sit by our "standby' grandparents the Mahaffey's.
A bunch of women in our ward also had a neighborhood crepe bar the week before the kids got out of school. It is always fun getting together with friends and letting the kids play. This is Ava and Kai. They are one day apart! I will never forget when Kai's mom mentioned how excited she was to be induced on the 14th of June (she was due about a week before me). I secretly hated her because I was so done being pregnant...we'll not secretly since she knew it ;) Then surprise Ava decided to come the morning of June 13th. Winner!
Then partway through the week Aaron decided to jump into a wall. Seriously! He jumped off his bench and straight into the wall...I am not sure what was going through his brain. Tim had just left to work, I was in the middle of bathing Ava for the night, and Aaron came in with a face covered in blood. Ian ran over and got "standby" grandma and grandpa for some help. It was 8 pm on Sunday which meant instacare was closed the only option was ER. So nothing a little superglue and butterfly stripe couldn't handle. Thankfully the Mahaffey's were their to help settle Aaron down while I got Ava out of the tub. It was a busy evening :/
We ended the week with Ian's Christmas party. We had multiple stations set up and a bunch of minute to win it games. The kids had so much fun playing the games and all of the parent volunteers were awesome! Being a room mom has its perks since Ian and Aaron could play the games all week long!
Finally after we partied for the first three weeks of December the kids had some time to decorate their christmas tree downstairs. Ava loved taking off all the ornaments the boys would put on. Eventually she understood to hang them on the tree.
Ava loves helping me get ready in the mornings. Shortly after this photo was taken she discovered the sink could double as a pool.
Other than that we have enjoy some quiet time before company arrives finishing up things on our Christmas list...like making Christmas sugar cookies.
This girls has still been rocking the Santa hat all month long :)
Next up....Christmas!
