The joy of Christmas! Spending time with those you love and eating as much as humanly possible! Tim and I made our first turkey ever!!! It was beyond delicious...so flavorful and juicy. The boys decided Tim should wear the chefs hat when cutting the turkey.
We decided to do things a little differently this year and I loved it! Normally we have a big dinner on Christmas day and we decided to have a big dinner (we are talking Thanksgiving take two) on Christmas Eve. There is always left overs so the plan was leftovers on Christmas day. Dinner turned out delicious everyone helped pitch in and bring various items. Uncle Wally and Aunt Carol sent an edible fruit basket that was so delicious and the perfect centerpiece -well if it would have lasted that long ;) The boys were quick to eat all the fruit covered in Chocolate. We spent the evening stuffing our faces, reading about the birth of Jesus, and even had a surprise visit from Santa.
The boys were beyond excited and thankfully Santa reminded them to hurry to bed as he was just flying by... but would be back.
We of course had to read the Night Before Christmas.
And finished off the evening enjoying various Christmas clips. Like the lds "He Is the Gift." Our favorite clip of the night was when The Piano Guys, Peter Hollens, David Archuleta, and The Mormon
Tabernacle Choir get together to sing "Angels We Have Heard On High." It was absolutely breathe taking.
Everyone was in awe. My favorite shot from the holidays was this beautiful picture of Ava that my brother Andrew took. Clearly she was straight from Heaven!
We awoke to find the stockings stuffed and hunk with care.
Ava loved the puff snacks that were in her stocking. And Ryder was easily entertained the rest of the day with his new giant bone.
After stockings we enjoyed juicy rolls, eggs, and smoothies for breakfast then headed downstairs where Santa left a few other surprises. The favorite of the day were Ava's minnie mouse car, while Ian loved his Utah State gear and football, and Aaron loved his pajamas!
The downside to Christmas the mess that is left behind :/
We had so much fun being all together!
My brother (Andrew) put together a video of our Christmas day! It shows just how magical it really was...I love pictures but since Andrew has been shooting a lot of video I have come to find that I love video even more. Well mostly just when he does it ;) We were even able to FaceTime with Tim's Aunts and Uncles in NC that evening. I am not sure next Christmas will be able to live up to this one.
That night the adults all enjoyed a few games. Yes...we were all still in our pjs from Christmas Eve...going on 24+ hours. That's how we roll!
