Air Conditioning

Maybe this means that I should turn on the Air Conditioning?Shorts are missing and diaper is almost off.
Did I mention he is getting really good at dressing and undressing himself.

Lost and Found!

Binkies always seem to disappear left and right. It seems every time we go to the store binkies are on our list. We have been down to one binkie for about a month now. Magically last week Ian came over to us with two binkies in his hand! I don't have a clue where it came from, in fact I don't really care -we now have two!!!

This week Hunter was over and came to me with this pile of binkies below...

What the heck...doesn't have any idea how many hours and days I have spent searching the house for binkies? Even just one and I would be happy camper. He is here for 30 minutes and finds eight!?! He found his hidden stash...I am still not even sure where it is exactly...underneath his crib mattress on the back side under the crib skirt. Honestly when would I have ever look there???

Ian and I are loving being home this is his current activity while I do dishes. He loves playing under the table and banging on the pans. Oh lets not for get the terradactyl screaming to accompany it.

He is still one happy boy!!!

Grandma MacNair Visit

Tim's mom came to stay with us for a few days last week. This is my beginning picture only because I could bare to make the next one my beginning picture but nonetheless "Welcome grandma!"

Day 1: Ian loved seeing playing with Grandma all afternoon. After feeding him his bottle for the night he so kindly did this (I know she thought I was running to get her a towel but indeed I was running to get the camera. It was hilarious we were both laughing and it scared Ian). Yes chunky and all -can you feel the love :)

Day 2: We watched the neighbors kids that day. They too loved Nan and did not want her to leave their sight. We went to McDonalds for lunch. Ian loves chicken nuggets, and cheeseburger and pretty much everything you are eating he would like a bite. He also loves ice cream!

That evening we went to Summerfest and Ian said "Hi" to as many people as he possibly could.

The highlight of the evening was watching Ian trying to pick up as many pinecones as he possibly could before they fell.

Day 3 & 4: It's raining it's pouring and all of us were snoring. Today was a lazy day -not too much going on just relaxing and then running a few places around town. Ian is becoming very independent and wants to do everything by himself -like drinking out of his cup. He has been drink out of a regular cup with my help since he was about 6 months but he no longer will happily let me help him. Little stinker!

Day 5: Frisbee golf!!! Ian loved running around and picking up the frisbee's -just like daddy!
He was very proud of himself when he was able to put them into the basket! Notice his "this is so hard" face.

Day 6: Salt Lake City! I had a doctors appointment that morning down in slc. So we all dragged ourselves out of bed (we stayed up much to late watching Transformers in anticipation for the second one coming out this week!!!) Ian was quite the trooper given all of the driving and shopping we did that day. He had a blast at the South Towne Mall and loved the kid play room - no one else was there and we had the whole place to ourselves.
After a day of shopping we all met Tim's brother after work and ate at Texas Roadhouse. It was a great week and is always nice to see family. Sadly the only picture I have of Ian with his grandma is the first one -yes that is right the puke one. She was always snapping pictures of Ian that we didn't get any of her with Ian :( All of the picture you see are from her camera. Shoe Fetish!

Ian has recently developed a love for shoes. He loves to pull out as many of my shoes as he can. Sometimes he bring them to me to put on -but usually he loves to attempt to put them on himself. Whether he is wearing shoes or not.

I wonder if this has anything to do with it???

Sal the Salamander

This week we have a new member of the family. His name is Sal and his is a Tiger Salamander. Brent our neighbor found him outside our homes and Sal didn't seem to be doing very well. We all thought he was on his way out. Long story short he is now currently residing at our house for the next week. He is doing great and loves his new home and is quite the busy body which means he'll fit in well at our house.

Tim's mom will be staying with us next week and she will be taking Sal home to live with her at camp for all of the kids to see and learn about. So for now we are quite excited to have him with us. As for his meals he will have to go outside where Tim will feed him baby crickets.

I am still a little skeptical that Sal is in our home -but I couldn't bare to seen him thrown back outside. I am not sure what we'll do when Ian gets old enough to ask me if the creatures can stay with us in the house, I just don't have the heart to say no to the poor slimy thing. Maybe I'll just tell him that the dog will eat them? That'll work.

Rain Rain go away!

As many of you might have seen on the news...Smithfield has seen a lot of rain. A LOT! Last week was the worst and we happened to even get some video footage at the beginning of the storm just to give you an idea of the power. Just under an inch and a half of rain fell within about an hour. It was crazy -but luckily with the help of neighbors and all of those around us we were able to keep the damage to a minimum.

We were all luckily enough that this all happened at about 8:30 pm because many of us were still awake. It starts off by hailing -finger tip size pieces. Then turn to a down pour of rain.

We had noticed the water shooting out of the drain then our retention area begins to feel up into what we like to call CastleView lake. This is the beginning of a storm this week.
yes I did say drain -doesn't look like much of a drain now does it.
These pictures are from just this week so it is not quite as intense as the big storm the last week but you get the picture. The dirt line you see above the "lake" that is where the water was the previous storm until the city ran us out a pump.

There we sink holes on the highway in numerous places and a lot of homes were damaged all around us. We were lucky enough to not have any flooding but unfortunately a lot of friends did. Basement window were blowing out from the water moving so intensely and not having anywhere to go. Homes by the canal were flooded from the floor to the ceiling. It is still raining but we are very equip to be able to hand it now -sub pumps and all.
