Random Life

This past week was super busy. Tim has been...well...nonexistent. Between school and work there is little time for anything else. I keep trying to remind myself that soon it will all be worth but most of the time it just bites! However he is doing great in school and is hoping to get into Weber soon!

As for me work is going. The quarter just ended this Friday. Friday was probably one of the most annoying days I have ever had at work. I would go into the stories (maybe another time) but instead I will move on to the better things in life -Ian!
Ian is quite the pro at using his utensils and is loving applesauce lately.
He is extremely independent and currently does not like sitting in his high chair but wants to sit at the table. Once he sees the food he doesn't really care. He is nearly 17 months and wants to do everything on his own. This past week his molars finally popped through and now it looks like his eye teeth on the bottom are on their way.


Ian and Pike are best friends.
They wrestle -Ian tries to ride Pike like a horse - they play catch together. Tonight when doing tricks with the dog Ian started doing them too-it was hilarious. We would tell pike to lay and so would Ian, then we would tell Pike to roll over and so would Ian. Too funny!

Video explaination: Ian loves to get the toy from Pike and throw it. Occasionally they both go after it and Ian thinks it is hilarious. If Pike gets it Ian laughs and then gets upset. Then Ian takes it away from him, throws it and the cycle starts all over.

Ian loves sitting under the chairs and playing or eating.
This week I also sewed all of Pikes destroyed toys and pillow. The eyes were ripped out and stuff was coming from everywhere. Let just say I think Pike is wondering if it is Christmas!
Ian also is starting to understand that he has to say please in order to get things. We have been lucky enough to have my dad watch him a few times and based on the video he doesn't mind it either. I am not sure where he has picked it up but when he say please or "peeeess" he also tilts his head to the side. Silly Boy!

American West Cornmaze

Last weekend we headed to the America West Heritage Farm for a full day of fun with the Thompson's. I never realized there was so much to do -train rides, pony rides, animals galore, cornmaze, and more. Ian loved the train and feeling the wind blow once we got moving. He of course loved the animals as well -the chickens were entertaining to watch. He wanted to climb in with the horse. As for the goats, they were just his size and he loved chasing them around.

After looking at all the animals we headed over to the giant hayslide. Brian took Ellie, and Erin was nice enough to take Ian, while Tim and I watched and took pictures. It was quite the slide and it seemed to go pretty fast. I was sure that Erin and Ian were going to crash into the hay at the bottom -they were cruising.
They also had this giant hay fort jump with piles of hay for everyone to jump into. As you are probably already very aware Ian is not one to sit and watch. Although in the top right picture he does appear to be that way -don't worry seconds later he jumped with no fear. Let just say that boy had hay everywhere -but he loved it!

After all that playing we decided we better go through the cornmaze -since that is originally what we were there for. We had a great weekend and are ready to go to our next cornmaze -just kidding I think we are all cornmazed out!

Family Pictures!

I absolutely love getting pictures taken. Even though it stresses me out -I love the end result. With a one year hold it is hard to make an appointment or plan the right time because things always seem to change. So we had our neighbor who takes amazing pictures take our family photos last weekend.

I honestly cannot chose a favorite I love them all...these are some of my top top favorites but if you would like to see them all click here. I suggest you do and leave me input because I really cannot chose which ones to print and hang.

Ian was quite a grouch when he discovered that there was rocks, dirt, and water all around him and we weren't their to play but to take pictures. Luckily Lindsay was way more prepared then I was I had six-lets ready to go (lifesaver)!

We even got pictures of the whole family!

Near the end we took some picture of Ian with this sucker that Lindsay got him. The first time Ian had a sucker was about a month ago at a parade and it was a little dum dum.
I am pretty sure he was in heaven!

Cornmaze!

Tonight Ian and I went to the corn maze with the Thompson's.
The Frog Prince and Princess

I figured at some point I would take Ian to the corn maze because we go every year...but I wasn't expecting him to love it quite so much. It did help that we had wonderful company.

Ian loved playing in the dirt and picking up the old corn and saying "eewwwww."
We did a lot of wandering at first because you can't just look at the map where is the fun in that? Let just say we (Erin, the kids, and I) weren't doing the best job at navigating our way back and with children it is a whole different ball game. So Brian took over on navigating and soon we were out in no time at all.

At the end they have a mini cornmaze made with hay bales...
As you can see from the video Ian and Ellie were having a blast running around.

sitting together because mine did not turn out.

If it did not cost we would go again tomorrow -Ian loved it!

Paranoid Doctor Visit

Today we took Ian to the doctor. After all of his falls and bumps and bruises this weekend I need to be assured that everything was ok. Not to mention he has been waking up for the last couple of weeks way to early and just not his normal happy camper self. The doctor did a head to toe exam and said everything looks great however he has six teeth that are just about to break through -four of them being his molars. His two top molars have actually already broke through a little. So poor little guy -I knew he had a few coming in but I did not notice six of them.
Lets hope that just come fast and painless (although we are not off to a good start).

Bumps and Bruises!

Lately it seems we cannot go a day with out some kind of bump or bruise.

Lets just go over this weekend (4 days weekend because of fall break hurray)....
Thursday: Bonked his nose on the crib when he slipped because of his footies on his pj's in his attempt to climb out and run free.

Friday: I am sure you can see his most recent run in with the sidewalk. He got going to fast and was running with the dog and smack. He did manage to catch himself on his hands first then rocked onto his forehead. He did not even bleed it was just like a carpet burn but on the cement. Yes -ouch is right.
Saturday: Feel down the stairs -not just a couple a lot of stairs as in 10. What is horrible is I was standing right there and he just slipped right through me then I fell down a couple trying desperately to catch him.
Sunday: Hit is head on my parents table playing tag and fell just running around quite a bit.
With all the falls this week -we are taking him to the doctor on Monday. He has been quite fussy lately which is very unusual. We are just doing a check-up and make sure everything is ok and no bones out of place etc.

Honestly -can I just wrap him up in bubble wrap?!?!

Ketchup!

Ian has always loved food but we never put condiments on his foods mostly because he eats so well and I don't want to chance ruining that. We had tinfoil dinners the other night and I put ketchup all over my hamburger. Ian wanted some as well so I gave him a little he just giggled and giggled after trying it. It was kind of a bad thing though because then all he wanted was ketchup. He was licking his plate to get all the ketchup.

He was a pretty happy boy with all that ketchup!
