I can hardly believe that it is July! The boys are finally feeling good which means it is time to get out and have some fun! We filled this week full of activities and lucky us daddy was able to join us for a few! We surprised Ian and Aaron one night and took them out for dinner to the New York Pizza department then headed to Boondocks. Ian loves the bumper boats -what child would not love squirting all of those in sight with a water gun!
Aaron was so sad he did not get to go but he enjoyed watching the race cars.
We ended up leaving boondocks early because the soft play turned out to be a let down -the boys found poop in the entrance. I was so disgusted that we had to leave -after we got our refund of course. We decided to head to the new City Creek by temple square.
I did not realized that they had a small splash pad. We decided to go ahead and let the boys play for a minute since they don't care to get very wet...
Ian has been loving reading books to his brother!
We also headed to Booster night at the Hogle Zoo! It is one of our favorite events all year and this year did not disappoint. Tim was stuck at work in Salt Lake so he met us there. The boys and I rode the train while we waited for Tim (Ian clearly tired of pictures).
Ian had been thinking all day about what he would like to have painted on his face. That afternoon he decided on an anaconda snake. As soon as we got to the zoo he wanted to hurry and get his face painted.
Both of the boys as happy as can be. It did help that they both took a two and a half hour nap in the afternoon!
Ian pretending to be a snake.
Aaron loving his picture taken.
We ended up staying at the zoo until nearly nine o'clock. You could tell it was getting late because a lot of kids were melting down and throwing tantrums. Thankfully not our children :) We decided to get an ice cream cone on the way out and Ian was loving it!
We have also enjoyed some time outside with friends. Ian and Tyler had a blast on the slip n'slide. They both get along so well. Sadly, Tyler is moving next week to Provo. While it is not too far away hopefully they can still get together and play!
After a lot of fun outside in the sun there is nothing better than relaxing in the chair with dad!
It has been a great week and the boys have been having so much fun! Then our luck began again :( Late on evening Ian woke up with a fever of 103.4 degrees. No other symptoms just a fever. I pulled out the Tylenol and Ibuprofen (actually I did not have to pull it out it was already about from the previous week) and the cycle began. He held onto the high fever for three days and then started complaining that he could not swallow because his throat hurt. Given our neighbors had all had strep throat I decided I better take him in.
Turns out it was not strep! Infact they are not sure what is going on with my boys. Aaron thankfully did not get anything this round.
Unless you felt Ian you would never guess that he had a crazy high fever.
The doctor's were baffled. They though for a moment maybe it is periodic fever disorder but that is extremely unlikely. We just simply have bad luck. So while we don't know what is going on, we are definitely sick of it! It has been happening about every 2-3 weeks for nearly two months so time will tell. Another week and then the fevers should randomly begin again according to my schedule. I am still crossing my fingers that it does not!
