Boys

Beginning of August 2011

Ian will be starting preschool in a couple weeks. I decided if he is old enough to go to school he is old enough to have chores around the house. We have started a reward system with golden doubloons (pirate treasure). He can use these to win prizes from the treasure chest, play computers games, or special one-on-one time with Tim and I. He can earn one golden doubloon for each of the following: making his bed, getting dressed, brushing his teeth, and feeding the dog. He can earn two golden doubloons for sharing with his brother, cleaning up his toys throughout the day, and other random kinds deeds. So far the only thing he wants to spend his "money" on is computer games. He loves playing the Disney junior games and can do it all by himself. I will even show him you have enough doubloons for a prize out of the treasure box but he doesn't care he would rather play games. He now wakes up in the morning and says "Oh, I need to do my chores" then off he goes.

Ian playing the Disney Handy Mandy game "Flicker Lights the Way."
Aaron is just obsessed with the cookie jar. He loves banging the cookies together, attempting to get them in the jar, and chewing and drooling on them a lot.Did I mention Ian has been crazy about pirate stuff lately. Ian, Aaron, and I built a pirate ship with his lego's as well. Tim came home and added a few finishing touches too. The only problem with building such a cool pirate ship he will not take it apart to build other things. At least we have fun playing pirates with it!

Aaron loves the games most younger kids do like...see how many times mom will pick that up. He thinks it is absolutely hilarious to throw the pillows off the couch.

Although right now he thinks that pretty much everything is hilarious! Can you tell by his spagetti covered face? He just got his first tooth at ten months...bottom front left tooth. Oh does his enjoy biting things.

Ian is as full of energy as ever. He found his sticker book during naptime.
He is still a wonderful big brother to Aaron! He loves to share all of his food with Aaron and is good about making sure it is in small bites. He even shared his ice cream cone with Aaron. We discovered this to be a bad things. Aaron loves ice cream! He doesn't do the little baby bite either (where they just put there mouth on the ice cream without actually getting any). Aaron sinks his bottom tooth and gum's right into the thick of ice cream and gets as much in his mouth as possible. Now if you walk away with ice cream, or do not feed him quickly enough he will scream at you until given some. See what I mean??? Bad thing!
