This little cutie is officially six years old! He has been waiting for nearly a year to turn six and the day has finally come :) Daddy took him to the store this morning to pick out his own donut -no question he picked out the biggest one they had. Daddy even let him pick out some gum.
We celebrated his birthday all weekend long. All I can say is this boy is one lucky kid! His friends are all into xbox and playstation and Ian was very excited to have his own system and be able to play at our house. He has been loving Marvel Lego Adventures (beware it is not an easy game) and Knack.
On Friday it was party time! We have let Ian choose the last couple of years what he would like to do and it has been wonderful. He had a hard time decided this year but when we said it was ok for him to take a couple friends to Boondocks Family Fun center the choice was easy. Luke, Gunner, and Ian are all in the same kindergarten class together and all live within a block of each other. They all get along great!
The kids had a blast spending the day at Boondocks. My parents were able to come down to celebrate with us and lend a helping hand :) As always Ava was very excited to see them. We had fun riding the go karts, bumper boats, arcade games, golfing, and more arcade games.
This was the best game. Everyone could play together and as you can see it wasn't just for little kids. Plus you always got a good amount of tickets. The goal was to try and hit the jelly fish (he only came out occasionally) and you could win 250 tickets.
Tim and Aaron won once. Ian and gunner were determined to hit the jelly fish. Luke was just having fun catching fish. Wouldn't you know that Luke hit the Jelly Fish -winning 250 tickets. Ian and Gunner were a little bummed but excited that Luke hit the jackpot.
The boys favorite thing to do was laser tag. As you can see from the picture above they loved coming up with their names. Tim wasn't going to write the full names but unfortunately for him these boys can read. They quickly corrected him that he needed to write it all out.
We had a great day at Boondocks. I think the boys could have stayed their all night if we let them.
We headed home and had some dinner and cake. Ian and Gunner took a break from playing to relax on the deck.
Andrew was even able to make it down for dinner. Unfortunately for Uncle Andrew, Ian has an amazing memory. He was so excited it was his birthday because last year Andrew took him to Walmart and let him pick out whatever he wanted for his birthday. This year Ian was sure he wanted a Lego. After Ian's birthday celebration winded down and the kids had gone to bed Andrew took Ian to the store. It was an extremely difficult decision but Andrew spotted this Lego set and Ian decided it was perfect! The next morning he had it all put together and played for hours.
It has been a great weekend! I can hardly believe that my baby is six!
