Well we thought that we had lucked out and got a close to perfect child always happy awake and alert and did not cry unless he was hungry. Then he turned about 3 week and a couple days and it all changed. Crying all the time, screaming and arching his back, gaging, choking, coughing, clenching his fists, just to name a few things. On Thursday I called the doctor and scheduled an appointment. The doctor said it sounds just like reflux. So now our poor little Ian is on medication and we'll find out in a couple days if it seems to be working. So far we have had many nights of him up till 1am then up every half hour so on and so on. This is the picture that we have pretty much been seeing....and eventually this leads to me with big dark circles under my eyes because he was not napping during the day either...but defiantly wipe the smile off my face.
However at the appointment which was when Ian was exactly 4 weeks old he weighed 10 lbs 3 oz. The doctor said he looks great and is gaining weight very nicely. Sometimes we get lucky and every now and then we catch a few happy more like content moments.
And then there are also the times when he like to let us know exactly what he thinks. Notice the finger...
What is funny about this picture is right before I took the picture with his other hand he had "I love you" in sign language. Talk about sending mixed signals.

Oh, Ashley I am so sorry. Having a crying newborn is tirring in every way. I hope the medicine works. The pictures are great, I can't believe his little hand cues. Smart kid:-)
well we are here to help if you need it! I am sure Cavin and him would have a fun time! Just don't let Cavin roll on him!! Squish!!
That is sad- Bailey was on reflux meds since she was 8 days old and in the hospital. I dont think she ever really had reflux, but the Drs use that as an excuse for anything... But it really does sound like Ian probably does have it though! So sad, I hope you get it all figured out!
