Ian on his first day of preschool -he did not want his picture taken (this is as good as I could get).
Ian has now been in preschool for nearly 4 weeks. He absolutely loves it! We were not going to enroll him in preschool this year, but with moving and all the struggles that come with it we decided preschool would be a wonderful way to make new friends. Since we had just moved down here to Utah Valley I was unsure of where to send him. My cousin that lives just a couple minutes from us said that her boy loved going to Kids Village. I called in June as soon as we moved and was able to secure the last available spot Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (they had just recently had a cancellation -while enrolling him at the school another parent was trying to get my spot). We had back to school night the week before school started where Ian was able to meet with his teachers and do different activities around the school like make homemade bread with his cooking teacher, gak with his science teacher, sing and dance in music class, plus see his classroom and all of the things he gets to learn about this year.
Below is a view from when you walk in the school with Ian talking to the big teddy bear. You can imagine why we all feel in love with it. The kids are even able to go inside and play in the tree. All of the staff that works at the school is amazing. Ian's classroom is behind the cottage on the right.
On Monday he goes to his regular homeroom class with his teacher Miss Raya. Who he says is the nicest person ever. He also attends an art and history class on Monday.
Wednesday he attends homeroom with Miss Raya as well as Music and Science. Then his absolutely favorite day is Friday. He still gets to spend time in homeroom with Miss Raya but also has art and cooking classes. Below Ian is standing infront of the door to the cooking classroom. He loves cooking!
After picking Ian up on the first day he was nonstop talk. I attempted to get as much information out of him as possible but anytime I asked about a person their name was always Lacy. He does not even know any Lacy's -this has become his go to name for kids he does not know. With further questioning he then said he played with Carson. I thought that was fun, he even has a cousin named Carson. Then he informed me he also played with Jayden, Jaxon, and Kenna. Which happens to also be the names of his cousins -ironic? I think so. We then talked about what he did in art, science, or something specific. He informs me they did everything. After preschool we come home eat lunch then take a nice 2 hour nap (everyone -usually mom included)! When waking up from nap on the first day of preschool Ian was asking me to take him back to preschool. Needless to say he has absolutely loved every minute! After having been in school for a few weeks he is getting really good at communicating what has been happening. He are some of the remarks I have heard...
We were noisy today, Miss Raya says (with a smile and head tilted) "Listen up please"
Lacy was hitting her paint brush on the table -but we have to be soft with the paint brushes (any guesses that was probably Ian)
BANGO BANGO BANGO BANGO (I am guessing they played the bango's very loudly that day)
He has loved learning his letters and showing me all of the neat things he makes in school everyday. We are not allowed to pull out of the parking lot until he has shown and explained each thing he has done. Last week he even came home with a note from his teacher -don't worry it was a good note. It said that Ian was a "ray of sunshine today." He said he got to be the helper all day. Next week is school pictures and he is super excited.
