We were lucky enough to have the Thompson's come down and visit us this past weekend (August 18th). Brian was out of town for work so lucky us Erin and the kids headed down to hang out with us. We were all beyond excited for them to come. Not to mention Ian never settled down because he was so excited to see Ellie! Brock and Isaac loved exploring every corner of the house. I was pretty sure I had done a good job making sure everything was toddler and baby proof. I'll admit it was! Although Brock did decided the garbage would be fun to play with -no worries place it in the other room and close the door. That has since become the garbage's permanent home because Aaron has decided it is also fun to pull things out of the garbage -gross! Although after having fun finding toys throughout the house they both love to tackle Aaron. He giggles at first and then decides that is enough. He might as well get used to it because I am 100% sure it will not be the last time he is tackled.
After dinner Thursday night we all headed outside for some slip n' slide and pool fun with our neighbors. Every child was soaking wet and had a big smile on their face. You can check out Erin's blog for more picture here. I think Ian and Isaac could have stayed outside all night long in the water.

Ian
Notice the tongue -he loves to play
Aaron trying to play with my shoe or as Ian would say, "Not a shoe, it's a flip flop."
Ian trying to be a big helper and catch Isaac -who did not need any help
Taysen, Ellie, Ian warming up on the electrical box -nice hair Ian :)
After getting the kids all to bed Erin and I stayed up late and talked, ate cold cereal, and watched the movie The Proposal. I know Erin had never seen it -crazy right. So it was a must!
The next morning we decided to be a little adventurous and head to the beach just a couple minutes from our house. Ian and Ellie could have played all day long but Aaron was tired and Brock and Isaac began running opposite ways. Thus, naptime for everyone.

Our neighbors came down for a little bit and joined us as well. They brought their raft which the boys loved for a little while.
We headed home for some lunch and much needed naps (which no one wanted to take -nor did anyone take good naps). When the kids got up we enjoyed playtime until they all had to head to pick up Brian from the airport. Every child's favorite thing to do at our home is spin in the chair. It is old chair that we got when my great grandma passed away. I absolutely love it! So does everyone else. The boys enjoyed the ride while Ian and Ellie pushed.

Ellie decided she would rather ride as well. Ian did not mind one bit -he loved pushing them all around on the chair.

We had so much fun and are so glad you were able to come down and visit us. Hopefully we will get to do it all again soon. Brian we happily welcome any work plans that may take you out of town -as long as it means the rest of your family gets to come and hang out with us! Thanks for coming -and all the wonderful picture you took! See you soon!
