Halloween

Ian was so excited for Halloween this year and the weather was amazing! I cannot remember a Halloween were we did not have to bundle up in coats because it was either snowing or raining. Not this year, all we need was a long sleeve shirt and we were all good to go! Before we headed out trick-or-treating I tried to get some pictures of the boys together in their costumes.

Ian "Captain Hook" attacking the "Crocodile" dog Pike. I looked forever for a Captain Hook jacket and hat but could not justify spending 70 dollars on a silly Halloween costume. This pirate costumes was actually Andrew's when he was a little older than Ian. We did buy the hat (7 dollars) and made a feather for it. While my parents were in Florida they got Ian a sword, hook, etc. Pike was not loving his crocodile costume -probably because it is not a costume it is Ian's Zoobie pet. However, what would Captain Hook be without a crocodile chasing him.
Peter Pan
Peter Pan & Captain Hook
Land Ahoy!Trying to get pictures of the two of them actually looking at me was nearly impossible. All they wanted to do was run and crawl away from me.
Peter Pan flying off to Neverland. One of his favorite things to do along with hanging upside down.
Tim took Ian and Pike around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat. Ian was asking Tim, "Now what do I say?" Then he would practice saying trick-or-treat. When arriving at the first house Ian stood there drawing a blank. Tim asked "Ian, what do you say?" Ian responded to our neighbor at the door with candy, "Hi, my name is Ian!" After a couple houses he figured it out. He would confirm with Tim, "First I say trick-or-treat, then I say thank you." Such a polite boy! He had some much fun walking around with his dad.

Aaron and I stayed home and passed out Candy. Aaron woke up from his nap that afternoon with a mild fever and runny nose. Did I mention that Aaron is officially walking!!! He now walks more than he crawls and is so proud of himself. When he has decided he is done walking he will stop (while standing), clap, watch for you to also clap, then crawl away. Aaron had fun trying to steal all of the candy out of the bowl. Good thing it is in wrappers!
Ian came home for a break then was begging to head out again. I decided to take him up the hill to other homes in our ward boundaries. We changed Pike back into his spider costume which he does not mind at all (it keeps him nice and warm). Pike is always a huge hit with everyone adults and kids. Ian loved walking around and seeing his nursery teachers and other people that he knew. I could tell that he was starting to get a little tired because he would run back to me and say, "I forgot to say trick-or-treat that time." While talking at the Bishop's house they had a bench by the doorway and Ian immediately sat down. When it was time to leave he said, "that it was nice sitting down." Nonetheless he still did not want to stop. I was not allowed to skip one lite house without him saying, "mom, we have to go to that one." I am surprised that we made it home at all! We got home and Ian ran to the bathroom, changed into his pajamas, then dumped out all of his candy on the counter. He made quite the haul and filled his reusable grocery bag half way! His favorite items were any type of candy with a superhero printed on it, the toothbrush from our home teacher (he's a dentist), and the orange. Now the question is what are we going to do with all of that candy???
I think Tim and I are already sick from the massive amounts of candy we have consumed. Good thing Ian only gets two pieces a day -One if he takes a nap, and one for dessert after dinner. Although each time he has a piece of candy he runs to go and brush his teeth with his new toothbrush. Apparently that is what the dentist told him to do!

The kids looked great! Sad we couldn't have seen you in person. I totally hear you about the picture thing. I just give up on them looking at me. Glad you all had a fun night. And even more happy for you that Aaron is walking all over.
