Maybe I shouldn't tell you this but I have a new favorite store!!! The Orem Deseret Industries also know as the DI. You can judge me all you want but it is absolutely amazing. We were dropping off a donation to the store and had heard that it was amazing, so we headed inside. The store is huge, the staff is very friendly, and the deals are insane. I am finally realizing that I should be saving some of the things I find the boys for Christmas, but I am just too excited about it and can't believe the price. Here are some of our highlights.
Little Tikes Farm a whole $3 dollars.
It looks brand new and the sounds all work (I found the exact same one at the store for $40)

I mentioned our dining room chairs not too long ago in a post. I thought I would show you a before and after. The chairs were $15 dollars each. We took off the cushion and spray painted them black. We did not distress them because our two little boys will take care of that all on their own! Eventually we'll reupholster the chair but with the boys and their messy fingers it is much easier to just wipe it down after dinner.
The finished product! The high back chairs my mom bought for $30 for the set when Tim and I were getting married and our neighbors moved. Good eye mom! They look great reupholsters and sprayed black as well. Ian took care of the distressing :) The table Tim made from a door that we got at the antique shop for $27 dollars. So...$105 dollars for 7 chairs, $27 table, about $60 in hardware and wood to make the legs and panels, $100 for the glass top. $292 dollars for a dining set! Not too shabby! We are on the hunt now for a long dresser for our bedroom. I am tired of trying to cram Tim's underwear into the drawers hoping that it will magically close. Sorry TMI about Tim -haha
We have also been able to add to our Dr. Suess collection with many books that look brand new anywhere from $0.75 to $1.50 a book! Ian loves books! If he could he would have me read to him all day long. Aaron on the other hand does not like books, at all. He will not sit in my lap through a small flip book anymore :(
On Monday I found a sit n' spin for $2.00 I could not take an actual picture because I am finally learning and these items have been put into hiding for Christmas! At the store they are $20.
As I am writing this I am starting to realize that this is becoming very addicting! I love searching through the store trying to see what new items they have put out, and what the kids would love! For instance, if I go tomorrow maybe they will still have the Little Tikes Car that was brand new in the box for $15. Aaron would love it (normally a 50-70 dollar car). I decided against since I knew Tim would "kill" me if I brought home a big toy. Oh dear, this could be a problem. A very BIG problem!
