After getting home late Friday night from Lagoon. On Saturday I decided to take the boys up to Hill Air Force Base in Layton for the Air show. Tim was working but that never stops us. It was supposed to sprinkle a little but we decided might as well enjoy the adventure. On the drive up it was a down pour (when in SLC I realized I should just turn around but figured what the heck). I called my Uncle Doug & Aunt Betty and talked to them. They said it was cloudy but that it might clear up. They also mentioned that they would be home all day and that we were welcome to stop by. So away we went...
We got to Hill Air Force base and found parking right in the front (it was pouring so everyone was leaving). We waited it out for about an hour but it was still pretty nasty outside. They came over the loud speaker and announced that the show had been canceled. That was that :( We went to leave and I could see the exit just south of us left. Unfortunately they would not let me turn left I had to follow the flow of traffic and exit on the north side of the base which took about an hour. The boys were a little grumpy at that point we had been in the car for about 4 hours without a plane in sight. So we headed to Doug and Betty's house.
The boys had a blast running around and playing. Brandon came over with Chelsea and Ryker as well. That was the last we saw of Ian and Chelsea, they were off playing and having a blast! Aaron and Ryker also played together really well! Too bad we don't live even closer! The skies started to clear up and we could hear the planes flying around.
Doug and Betty's house was perfect! The kids could run around outside and play and watch the planes. It is a good thing we did not go to the base because Aaron did not seem to be too fond of the loud jet engines. He would run into the garage and giggle as the Thunderbirds flew just over our heads.
Chelsea and Ian were so cute! I loved how well they played together and how nice they were to each other. They even wrote letters to one another and drew pictures of the two of them playing. I will try and search for Ian's (it is hidden somewhere special in his room) to post a picture later.

Ryker looking as cute as ever!
If Aaron was not in the garage he was happy if someone was holding him! As you can see he loved Aunt Betty!

We had a blast! While it looked like the day wasn't going to turn out well with the rain, it ended up being a great day. Ian asked if we can go there again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day....you get the point :)
